WORKS: The project was designed to improve visibility on the mountain road.
A job well done
THE provincial council reported
a project to improve
traffic safety on a notoriously
tricky bend on the AL-
6104 connecting Macael and
Laroya has been completed.
The €46,500 works concentrated
on a section of the
mountain road with a high
embankment which in some
parts reduced visibility. The
embankment was also prone
to frequent landslides.
Almeria Development
Deputy Oscar Liria said the
project represented the elimination
of a significant risk on
the road. He also pointed out
the provincial government
has carried out works on upgrading
the Los Chopos lane
connecting Laroya and
Tahal, which he said had
been in a very poor state of
repair.
