THERE’S GREAT news on the front
page today regarding The Woolstore in
Lyttelton.
It has been a long-time coming but
finally word on who the developer of the
bar, cafe and retail complex is out: The Peebles Group.
The group is tip-top developers. It has the popular Little High
in the central city and the soon-to-be opened Riverside farmers’
market and Riverside retail complex.
But the important thing is the group, headed by Richard
Peebles, has its heart in the region.
It could have taken its money and ran to potentially more
lucrative locations after the earthquakes. But they have invested
here – which has been a massive help for the rebuild.
Now they are doing something big in Lyttelton. Great news.
