Downtown is Growing. And Fast.

When was the last time you went to Downtown
Sioux City? And I don’t mean cutting through to
avoid construction. I mean when did you last truly
experience Downtown Sioux City? If this idea makes
you chuckle, it’s understandable. Every downtown will
usually experience a ‘downturn’ at some point or another.
But Downtown Sioux City has a unique resilience through
the ups and downs.
Over the past few years, Downtown Sioux City has grown
rapidly with a resurgence of nightlife, upscale downtown
living opportunities, and major building renovations
and updates. So if it’s been a while since you last spent
time downtown, now’s the time to go! Just take a look
for yourself at some of the incredible growth going on in
Downtown Sioux City!
Lamb Theatre Project
Back in its prime, many well-known stars took the stage at
the 1909 Sioux City auditorium.
And now there are plans in place to bring it back. It’ll be
called the Lamb Arts Regional Theatre and will be fully
restored to its former glory with an exterior resembling
the original 1909 look and an interior featuring three
separate theaters!
Updates to the Convention Center
The Sioux City Convention Center currently hosts
over 200 events each year and has been appreciated
by many. But it’s about to get a facelift. These new
Convention Center updates will include the construction
of a new, nearly 73,000 square foot addition to the center
with the current convention space being converted into
a glamorous ballroom! Plus, the adjoining Courtyard by
Marriott will bring more visitors to the heart of downtown!
Warrior Hotel/Davidson Building Project
The old Warrior and Davidson buildings were once
icons in Downtown Sioux City. And now they’re making a
comeback! The plan includes a 146-room Autograph by
Marriott hotel, luxury apartments, bars, restaurants and
other retail outlets!
Marto Brewing
The 7,300-square-foot space adjacent to the Promenade
Cinema 14 is home to Marto Brewing Company with a
10-barrel brewhouse! The brewery has segregated spaces
for its sour and non-sour barrel programs, a taproom and a
100-seat restaurant!
Explore Downtown
With over 120 events happening each and every month,
a 90% increase in living units downtown since 2015, and
many more upcoming projects planned for the future,
Downtown is teeming with life and growing incredibly fast!
So if you haven’t checked out downtown Sioux City in a
while, go explore a little. You might be surprised at what
you find.
