It’s hard for me to fully define this word -- resilience.
I know it’s in us all. We’ve all had to overcome
something that required us to be resilient.
Resilience to me is getting up after you’ve been
kicked down, whether that be from someone else
or yourself. It’s keeping your head high in times of
trial, times of hardship. It can get you through hard
times and forces you to see the good at a time when
it can be very difficult.
I hope this issue helps our readers in their space and
time. I know this life is full of roller coaster events,
finding our true happiness, learning how to stay
positive for our souls can be difficult, but it opens
up the opportunity, a chance to be resilient.
Resilience. There is no doubt that since purchasing
this magazine my resilience has been tested. It is
no easy endeavor starting something new. Some
days I can’t quite catch my breath.
Thankfully, the community I surround myself with
constantly reminds me why I started. The positive
affirmations Becca and I receive on an ongoing
basis fuel us. This is absolutely a labor of love
and we are so privileged to connect in this way. A
strong community is the number one determinant
of a person life expectancy, as well as the quality of
their life. We love our community.
Creating a community magazine focused on
starting meaningful conversations is our way of
contributing to a stronger, more resilient and more
united Siouxland. Read, reflect, reread, share, and
certainly, go start a conversation. Enjoy!
