2019 Tribute to Mothers and Fathers [alternate cover]

MESSAGE
I wish to congratulate the Plaza Filipino Inc and NARRA Co-operative Ltd for
this fantastic initiative. After all, to me there is nothing more important in life
than family.
When I first became a paediatrician, I learnt very quickly that I had to listen to
mothers and fathers -because I knew they always had their child’s best interest
at heart. I know that when a child is sick or suffering it is the unconditional love
and support from their parents that gets them through.
Mothers and father are consistently the ones sacrificing their sleep, time and
efforts ensuring that their children got the best start in life.
There is nothing more fulfilling in life than nurturing a child, and being able to support and guide children
through life. One never ceases to be a parent, no matter your age. This parental support has always been integral
to the Filipino Community and therefore it is only fitting that a tribute be given to mothers and fathers.
The Macarthur region is truly lucky to have such a vibrant Filipino-Australian community, who contribute to the
diversity and prosperity of our society. I wish to thank them for their ongoing contributions to our community,
and congratulate them for the emphasis placed on the role that the family unit has in society.
As a son, a father and a grandfather I would like to pay tribute to all the amazing mothers and fathers in our
electorate of Macarthur and further.

I am proud to congratulate Plaza Filipino Inc. and NARRA Co-operative Ltd on
once again celebrating the selfless contributions made to our community by both
mothers and fathers.
The Annual Tribute to Father and Mothers allows us to recognise the
accomplishments of the Filipino community in our region and, indeed, all over
the world.
The annual tribute takes the time to appreciate the sacrifices parents make out of
love and in hope for a prosperous future for their children.
As a father, I know it is not always easy, you are a source of unwavering love,
support and guidance, and for that I pay homage to all the wonderful parents in
our community.
The Tribute to Fathers and Mothers allows us also to recognise all that makes Filipino-Australian culture great.
This community is one of the most vibrant, family orientated and engaging communities in our society and it is
great to take the time out of our busy lives to celebrate this tribute.
The Macarthur region is one of the most diverse, multicultural communities in all of Sydney, and the Filipino
community plays an integral role in making Campbelltown the colourful community it is – a truly wonderful
place to raise a family.
I thank Plaza Filipino Inc. and NARRA Co-operative Ltd for organising this fantastic event and take the
opportunity to pay tribute to all fathers and mothers in our community.
The depth of parental love deserves to be acknowledged and celebrated.
