Temper Tantrums—the Emotional Meltdown R‰s 3 What do you do when a child has a tantrum? When a child throws himself on the floor in a fit of kicking and screaming, it is difficult for everyone. As researchers continue to learn more about ASDs, definitions of the diagnosis may become more certain to identify other underlying problems. Autism, a biological disorder, is behaviorally defined depending on the observation of the individual child.
