This workshop provides an overview of the Business Administration Scale, a tool to
help you systematically assess the business practices in your family child care program
and use that data to develop an action plan for program improvement. Please note:
This workshop does not meet the “Introduction to BAS” requirement for ExceleRate and
is for Family Child Care programs only.
Although the Business Administration Scale for Family Child Care (BAS), 2nd
edition is not required, it is recommended for this training. It can be purchased

law that all early care and education
providers are obligated to follow per Illinois
state law. Participants will learn why
the law was created and how the law
stipulates compliance. A discussion will
reveal the components for the process
involved to create a transition plan for
the child and family. Participants will create
a rough draft of a plan to implement
in their child care program.
