Turkey Trot
“
Brunch without champagne
is just a sad breakfast.
”
Conway residents Leah Ashby and Linda Mars
are longtime friends who love entertaining family
and friends. Leah is a business analyst at Acxiom
Corporation, and Linda is a registered nurse at Circle
of Friends Clinic at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
Mimosa Bar
A mimosa bar gives guests the opportunity
to create their own cocktails.
It’s also a big time-saver for the host,
allowing more time to spend with
family and friends. You can offer as
many options as you like and even
tailor the juice and garnish options to
the season. The possibilities are endless!
WHAT YOU NEED:
Champagne Flutes – the taller, the
better! Don’t be afraid to pull out
your collection of vintage glasses for
an interesting display.
Champagne – Dry, sparkling white
wine is preferred.
Fruit Juices – While a classic
mimosa includes orange juice,
don’t be afraid to be creative. Your
guests will thank you! Pomegranate,
grapefruit, cranberry and fruit juice
blends are all delicious choices.
Fruit Garnishes – Pick the prettiest
fruits in season from your local
grocery store. Fill bowls with strawberries,
raspberries, blueberries,
mangoes, pineapples and let your
guests choose their favorites.
Seasonal Recipes – Tailor your
mimosa bar to the season. Make
your mimosa bar next-level with
an apple cider mimosa or vanilla
cranberry mimosa!
participants will also be giving "thanks" by helping Healthier Lifestyles
through the Boys and Girls Club, Home Delivered Meals for the
Faulkner County Council on Aging, the Food Bank at CAPCA and
many more life-changing community programs.
"Elite runners, joggers, and walkers will enjoy the course through
Centennial Valley Country Club neighborhood, which is flat, fast
and flows through a welcoming neighborhood," said Tom Anderson,
the chairperson for the event.
"We want everyone to join us for the fitness before the feast," Maret
Cahill Wicks, Executive Director of UWCA stated. "We are expecting
a great crowd and continue to receive so much support from the
community," Wicks added.
