Innovative designs at<br />
wearable arts festival<br />
MORE THAN 60 participants from across the<br />
South Island gathered in Lincoln to compete in<br />
the wearable art festival Art Couture.<br />
It was the annual event’s third show and the first<br />
time it included a body art category.<br />
Organiser Kim Strange said it was a great addition<br />
to the show.<br />
“The designers painted for about eight hours at<br />
the event centre on the day of the show. The body<br />
art was well received and we look forward to having<br />
this in the show in 2020,” she said.<br />
Local Vanessa-Amy Greenwood of Southbridge<br />
took out the open category and recieved the award<br />
for most innovative.<br />
Livvie Botherway of Dunsandel won the student<br />
under-13 years category and Lucy Morrison of<br />
Prebbleton was runner-up in the student under-20<br />
category.<br />
