c) Petitions<br />
A petition is a written prayer to <strong>the</strong> Senate or <strong>the</strong> National Assembly under Articles 37 <strong>and</strong> 119 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
Constitution. It may be submitted by an <strong>in</strong>dividual member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> public or by a group, request<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> House<br />
to consider any matter with<strong>in</strong> its authority as contemplated <strong>in</strong> Articles 94, 95 <strong>and</strong> 96 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Constitution<br />
<strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g enact<strong>in</strong>g, amend<strong>in</strong>g, or repeal<strong>in</strong>g any legislation. At times, members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> public approach <strong>the</strong>ir<br />
MP to help with draft<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> presentation <strong>of</strong> a Petition before Parliament on a matter <strong>of</strong> <strong>in</strong>terest or concern<br />
to <strong>the</strong>m.<br />
A complete schedule <strong>of</strong> Petitions presented by Youth MPs dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> <strong>11th</strong> Parliament <strong>and</strong> dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> first two<br />
years <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>12th</strong> Parliament is annexed to this Report as Annexes 5 <strong>and</strong> 6.<br />
