Eastlife Winter 2019
It might be cold, damp and dark, but there’s still plenty to do across the region. With impressive museums, galleries, cosy pubs, theatres in an abundance and of course country walks, the East of England is very much geared up to make the most of winter.

Dinosaurs are heading to Peterborough
Cathedral for summer 2020
Peterborough Cathedral is set to display the Natural History
Museum’s touring exhibition ‘T. rex: The Killer Question’, during the
summer of 2020.
The display will be installed in the New Building at the east end
of the Cathedral and is made up of 14 dinosaurs, nine of which
are animatronic models. Amongst the collection is a moving,
three-quarter size T.Rex, as well as life-size T.Rex skeleton and a
12-metre-long static model of the creature. Models of other
dinosaurs, such as Saurornitholestes, Ankylosaurus, Deinonychus
and Edmontosaurues, will also be shown alongside T.Rex for
comparison, so that visitors can consider the ‘killer question’:
Was T.Rex a ferocious hunter or a mere scavenger?
It is planned that the exhibition will be on show from 20 July to 31
August and tickets will go on sale in the New Year. The Cathedral’s
regular programme of services will carry on as usual. Visit

Imperial War Museums lines up end-ofyear
family activities
Imperial War Museum Duxford (IWM) has announced its schedule
of family activities for the Christmas holidays.
Cockpit Control, new to IWM Duxford, lets families work together
on one of the most important and most problematic aviation
design questions – how to build a cockpit.
The popular Family Mission: D-Day Edition also returns to both
IWM Duxford and HMS Belfast, giving families the opportunity to
discover the roles navy crews and paratroopers both played on
D-Day 75 years ago through interactive missions.
