Bedford town centre hosts its all new Christmas Fair on Saturday
23 and Sunday 24 November from 10am – 5pm on Harpur
Square. Start your Christmas celebrations and support your local
businesses in the town centre. Indulge in a mulled cider or wine, or
perhaps a German sausage! Get your face painted for free by the
talented ‘Glitter-Arty Face Painting’ and enjoy the complimentary
rides on the vintage Carousel and Chair O Plane.
To end this fantastic weekend, the Embankment will come
alight from 5pm when the town centre and Riverside Christmas
decorations will be switched on followed by a spectacular firework
display. Bring the whole family for lots of free entertainment!
Late night Christmas shopping starts in Bedford from 28
November and runs every Thursday until Christmas. For those

There’s lots of Christmas events happening in the town this year.
The Christmas Tree Festival will run from 4 to 8 December at St
Paul’s Church and will be fundraising for Bedford Hospitals Charity
and Friends. Multiple trees will be displayed all decorated by local
businesses, schools and charities. Also on 8 December, make a
visit to the ‘Cairngorm Reindeer’ who will be in town outside Boots
from 11.30am.
For fun with the family why not book to see Hansel & Gretel at the
Quarry Theatre at St Luke’s, Rapunzel at the Corn Exchange or
perhaps the Santa’s Christmas Countdown?
In the lead up to Christmas the Harpur Shopping Centre will
be open late from 18 December, every day until 23 December
(except sunday 22nd), other shops will be at their own discretion
in town. In addition the Bedford Market is running from 18 to
24 December with a craft fair and seasonal entertainment on
Saturday 21 December.
Visitors can take advantage of the two hours free parking on
Saturdays and free parking all day Sunday at council owned
car parks plus Harpur Centre underground car park. In addition
Queen’s Street car park has two hours free parking every day.
