Christmas at Blackthorpe Barn, open until 22 December

For a fun, festive day out visit the barn. Full of colour, décor and

the scents of Christmas, it’s a one stop shop for all your Christmas

needs. The Country Christmas shop is open every day until 22

December. There are decorations galore with amazing themes

of all shapes, sizes and colours, not forgetting the gorgeous

handmade items in both traditional and contemporary styles. Late

night shopping takes place on 22 & 29 November, and 6, 13 & 20

December. With the arrival of the Christmas British Crafts events

each weekend up to 16 December, visitors can meander through

the barn and enjoy hand-crafted goods from a variety of artists

and skilled crafts makers. For those wanting the best quality tree

as their main attraction this Christmas, the 23 November sees the

start of the famous Rougham Estate Christmas trees sales. There’s

wreath workshops too!

Bury St Edmunds Christmas Fayre, 21-24 November

Firmly established as one of the best and biggest Christmas

markets in the region, the fayre will once again be showcasing a

huge selection of arts, crafts and gifts, as well as a large selection

of food and drink. With over 300 stalls set out along the town’s

medieval streets and gardens, you’ll find plenty of gifts and

certainly won’t go home hungry! The Abbey Gardens provides

a magical festive atmosphere with over 100 stalls, free children’s

entertainment, real reindeer and Santa and his elves in their winter

workshop.

Lavenham Christmas Market, 6-8 December, 11am-5pm

Market Place, Lavenham

Free entry. Parking free.

The Market Square is transformed into a winter wonderland with a

funfair, big wheel and over 50 stalls. Traders will be dressed up in

Dickensian theme to add to the nostalgia. Join in the fun as there

is a prize for the best costume! Carol singers will get you in the

festive mood, the smell of hog roast and mulled wine will fill the air

and village shops will be hosting Christmas offers and attractions.

Don’t miss the guided lantern tour taking place on Saturday 7

December and folklore tales at The Swan Hotel, complete with

mulled wine and mince pies!

popular market. The ‘mini food festival’ showcases food and drink
