ADVERTORIAL
Selwyn Motor Fest
on this Sunday
On Sunday, Rolleston will be hosting a
massive motoring show and family fun day
out.
This is the third time the Selwyn Motor Fest
and Family Fun Day has been held, thanks
to well-known local firm McLenaghan
Contracting as main sponsors, and
supporting sponsors Stadium Finance and
Repco.
“I’d like to thank McLenaghan for coming
on board as main sponsors this year. I’d
also like to congratulate them on celebrating
thirty years in business and service to
the Selwyn district,” says organiser John
Winchester.
Considerable hours have been put in by
many people to ensure this year’s event
will be a great day for everyone. All money
raised will be donated to a selection of
deserving community projects including
Canbreathe, an educational arm of the
Asthma Society.
Over the 12.5 hectares of event site, there
will be displays with 500-1,000 vehicles
expected on the day, along with over 30
diverse market and food stalls, live music,
children’s entertainment, prizes, raffles and
auctions.
Vehicles will include vintage and classic
through to muscle cars, trucks, tractors and
motorbikes, as well as stationary motors.
In the children’s zone there will be bouncy
castles, mini jeep rides, clowns, face
painting and more. The Selwyn School of
Dance will also be running activities, bound
to keep the youngsters occupied giving the
adults space to browse the many vehicles
on display or relax while listening to the
band.
The New Zealand Defence Force, St John
and the New Zealand Fire Service will also
have displays with the latter operating a
children’s maze.
For those displaying their vehicles, there will
be a chance to win a prize as well as meet
other car enthusiasts.
Entry tickets and those for display vehicles
can be purchased through the Internet at:
https://www.eventbrite.co.nz/e/selwynmotor-fest-2019-tickets-72497890141.
On the day gate sales will be: $20 per car
including its occupants; $5 per adult; $2 per
child; $10 per family.
It is not too late to assist this community
fundraiser as a sponsor, by donating money
or a prize, by booking a stall, or as a day
helper. Go to the McLenaghan Contracting
Selwyn Motor Fest Facebook page, for
