CYCLING<br />
South Australia has some fantastic cycling<br />
trails. Bike trails <strong>and</strong> cycling paths are<br />
located all around the state <strong>and</strong> are a<br />
great way to see Adelaide <strong>and</strong> the regions.<br />
Whether it’s a leisurely ride through the<br />
vineyards or some extreme two wheeled<br />
mountain biking action. Here are just a few<br />
great cycling trails:<br />
RIVER TORRENS LINEAR PARK<br />
Ideal for families, the Linear Park runs<br />
through the city all the way between the<br />
Mt Lofty Ranges <strong>and</strong> the coastal suburb of<br />
Henley Beach. You can start from<br />
anywhere along the trail <strong>and</strong> the<br />
picturesque river bank reveals its<br />
different l<strong>and</strong>scapes along the way.<br />
ENCOUNTER BIKEWAY FLEURIEU<br />
PENINSULA<br />
This cycling trail follows the coastline to<br />
link the towns of Victor Harbor, Port Elliot,<br />
Middleton <strong>and</strong> Goolwa. Pick up part of the<br />
ride from any of the 4 towns along the way.<br />
A flat ride it is suitable for all ages <strong>and</strong><br />
fitness levels.<br />
RIESLING TRAIL CLARE VALLEY<br />
27km trail running along an old railway<br />
line. This trail takes in farml<strong>and</strong>, vineyards<br />
<strong>and</strong> wooded areas with options for cellar<br />
door stops along the way, this easy pace<br />
trail stretches from Auburn to Barinia.<br />
COAST TO VINES RAIL TRAIL<br />
This trail starts at the seaside suburb of<br />
Marino in Adelaide <strong>and</strong> follows the former<br />
rail corridor to the Willunga township.<br />

WALKING<br />
There are hundreds of great walking trails in South Australia.<br />
Walking can bring you close to nature <strong>and</strong> is an ideal form of seeing<br />
the sights while also getting some exercise. There are walks in<br />
national parks, heritage walks <strong>and</strong> coastal walks.<br />
HEYSEN TRAIL - One of the world's great walking trails this 1200km<br />
trail starts at Cape Jervis on Fleurieu Peninsula <strong>and</strong> winds its way<br />
through many regions of the state with its end point in Parachilna<br />
Gorge in the Flinders Ranges. The Trail has been designed to cater<br />
for both the serious backpacker <strong>and</strong> for the day walker who might<br />
choose to do short walks along different sections.<br />
WATERFALL GULLY TO MT LOFTY ADELAIDE - Just 2km the walk<br />
ascends from the Adelaide Plains to the Mt Lofty Ranges. Due to<br />
the fact that it climbs 475m from bottom to top it is loved by<br />
fitness fanatics. It is one of Adelaide’s most beautiful metropolitan<br />
walks traversing through eucalypt forest <strong>and</strong> with fantastic views<br />
over the city of Adelaide.<br />
WALK THE YORKE, YORKE PENINSULA - This is a 500km trail that<br />
traces the entire coastline of the Yorke Peninsula revealing cliffs,<br />
beaches <strong>and</strong> scenery. The trail skirts mangroves, grain paddocks,<br />
seaside towns <strong>and</strong> untouched beaches. Pick up the walk at any spot<br />

WILDERNESS TRAIL, KANGAROO ISLAND - This 61km trail starts<br />
inside Flinders Chase National Park <strong>and</strong> traverses pristine beaches,<br />
cliff tops <strong>and</strong> popular KI attractions such as Remarkable Rocks<br />
<strong>and</strong> Kelly Hill Caves. There are 5 designated stages of the walk so<br />
check out what suits your interest <strong>and</strong> fitness level.<br />
