Santa was joinedbyateam of<br />
elves andfairies as wellasfestive<br />
andfamous characters and scores of<br />
people from withinthe Mid<br />
Canterbury community. The main<br />
street was packed withonlookers.<br />
Primaryschool children,<br />
preschoolers,church groups,<br />
cultural groupsand sports andcar<br />
clubs were among those taking part<br />
as wellaspersonnel fromemergency<br />
services, the<strong>Ashburton</strong> PipeBand,<br />
wholead the parade,and the<br />
<strong>Ashburton</strong> SilverBand.<br />
