A Step Back in Time
Looking for adventure this summer?
The Dubois County Museum
offers something for visitors
of all ages!
The Dubois County Museum is one
of the largest county museums in the state
of Indiana with over 50,000 square feet of
display space and over 39,000 pieces in its
collection.
Take a step back in time as you view
the exhibits on archaeology, German
heritage, wood manufacturing, military,
sports, town murals, antique agricultural
machinery, and model trains.
You can step into a complete German
Log House, walk down a replica of
Dubois County Main Street, or view the
seventeen rooms portraying life at the
turn of the 20th century.
A recent addition, the Wildlife Adventure
Exhibit Room, displays local animals,
pictures of area wildlife enthusiasts,
early guns made locally, and mounted
animals from North America and Africa
from the collection of Frank Fromme.
Children can visit the hands-on
Little Pioneers area, where they can play
in the one-room schoolhouse, Lewis and
Clark expedition boat, dress up area and
log reading nook. Visit the museum website
before you go to print off a museum
scavenger hunt, or an interactive activity
sheet that children can complete as they
tour the museum.
The museum offers special programs
and guest speakers throughout the
year. This summer’s calendar includes
a construction themed program for preschoolers,
the opening of a new exhibit
on the Cold War (1945 - 1991), a morning
of educational activities in the one room
school house, and several days of Strassenfest
programs.
The Dubois County Museum is the
perfect spot to explore Southern Indiana

The Museum is open Tuesday thru Friday 10-
2:00pm EST, Saturday 10-4:00pm, and Sunday
1-4:00pm. Closed Monday.
