RON STANLEY ELECTED PAC-WEST PRESIDENT<br />

Ron Stanley of Empire Bolt & Screw (Spokane,<br />

Washington) was elected to serve as president of the<br />

Pacific-West Fastener Association at a recent meeting of<br />

the Pac-West Board of Directors. Ron also served in this<br />

capacity from 1977 to 1999.<br />

David Palmquist of ND Industries (Santa Fe Springs<br />

California) was elected as the association’s vice president,<br />

and Gigi Calfee of Copper State Bolt & Nut (Phoenix,<br />

Arizona) continues as secretary/treasurer. Kevin Chavis<br />

of Star Stainless Screw (Commerce, California) stays on<br />

the Board as immediate past president.<br />

Craig Beaty of Beawest Fasteners (Kent, Washington),<br />

John Gaudette of Metric and Multistandard Components<br />

Corporation (Sparks, Nevada), Jo Morris of Desert<br />

Distribution (Scottsdale, Arizona), and Clay Weaver of<br />

Industrial Threaded Products (Brea, California) were<br />

elected by the Pac-West membership to serve three-year<br />

terms on the Board of Directors.<br />

Other members of the Pac-West Board are Trevor<br />

Borland of Pacific Bolt Manufacturing (Langley, British<br />

Columbia), Joshua Hutton of American Bolt & Screw<br />

(Fontana, California), Ed Smith of Wurth Timberline<br />

(Commerce City, Colorado) and Scott Webb of Bisco<br />

Industries (San Diego, California)<br />

At the association’s recent Fall Conference, tribute<br />

was paid to retiring Board members Steve Kendall of<br />

Portland Screw (Portland, Oregon), Rick Peterson of All-<br />

West Fasteners & Components (Auburn, Washington),<br />

Beth Van Zandt of Desert Distribution (Santa Clarita,<br />

California), Doug Weiland of Stelfast (Milpitas, California)<br />

Pac-West’s 2019 Fall Conference took place October<br />

24-26 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Sonoma Wine Country<br />

in Rohnert Park, CA. The conference featured the perfect<br />

mix of stimulating educational programs and fun events.<br />

Education offerings at the Pac-West 2019 fall<br />

conference included:<br />

¤ “Gross Sales is for Vanity, Profit is for Sanity,”<br />

presented by Jason Bader from The Distribution Team<br />

¤ “Analyzing Customer Profitability,” also presented<br />

by Jason Bader<br />

¤ “The Five Secrets to Highly Effective Teams,”<br />

presented by Bobi Seredich from The Southwest Institute<br />

for Emotional Intelligence<br />

¤ Interactive forum discussions on a wide range of<br />

fastener industry and business topics<br />

Conference social events included golf, a winery tour<br />

and vineyard lunch, an opportunity to visit with social<br />

therapy dogs, a spouse/guest brunch with a visit to<br />

historic Sonoma Plaza, a champagne breakfast, and a<br />

retirement celebration for Jeannine Christensen.<br />

This meeting occurred while the devastating fires in<br />

Sonoma County we doing so much damage to surrounding<br />

communities. To give support to those in need as a result<br />

of the Kincaid fire, Pac-West made a $1,000 donation to<br />

the Sonoma County Resilience Fund.<br />
