Making disciplesfrom our networks to thenations, declaring the“gospel, loving the lost.“
In 100 years, those who live and workaround us will be in eternity. Enjoying lifewith us around the Throne, or suffering theeternal death we all deserve. You and I havebeen entrusted with the power to make thedifference!For I am not ashamed of the gospel,because it is the power of God thatbrings salvation to everyone whobelieves: first to the Jew, then to theGentile.Romans 1:16We want to make the most of 2020 to spureach other on to live ‘Unashamed!’This won’t be a year of events, but a yearto change our culture. To orient our lifetogether more fully towards makingdisciples by sharing our lives and thispowerful gospel word.Everyone can be involved. Four simple stepsfor each of us will mean one giant leap forthe kingdom. The maths is simple 1+1=1000.With around 500 followers of Jesus in theLansdowne family, then him using each ofus to lead someone to follow him will mean1000 in his kingdom. Just think!4 small steps, one giant leap - Look,Engage, Add, Pray – LEAP!Look– see what God’s doing and build on itLet’s share stories of all that God is doingthrough our relationships and in our groupsas we encourage everyone to build on thisfoundation. We will establish a naturalrhythm that builds through each term. Atthe start we’ll encourage everyone to buildour relationships for Christ. Every group willthen endeavour to reach out together in themiddle. Then there will be a small numberof key central events to invite people to.Starting with the Holiday Club in Februaryand the Mark Drama at Easter, we’ll thenmake most of the summer including a beachbaptism, before hosting Ravi Zacharias(a well known Christian apologist) inNovember.Engage- all who are seeking with our lives and thegospelThere’ll be many opportunities to do thisstarting with Engage courses like CE andAlpha at the start of each term. Who mightyou engage this year?Add- something we’ve not yet doneIs there something new you could try? Our‘Go Tell Team’ will be investigating waysto share Christ on the streets. Perhapsyou could join them? Do you have a skillthat might draw people together? Comeand discuss how this might be used tointroduce people to the gospel. ‘Come SeeCourses’ like these could be run anywhere,at anytime and may see many hearing thegospel among us.Pray- asking God to open doors and makedisciplesIn addition to our prayer emphasis weekswe aim to provide as many opportunitiesas possible to get everyone praying. So ifyou’re already reaching out, tell us, andwe’ll share it for prayer.We all feel timid and inadequate.
