Introduction to Machines &
Contraptions

Whether your child is the creativeconstructive
type or prefer the inquisitivedeconstructive
way of learning, this camp
is sure to spark their engineering interests!
We’ll give your student the tools they need
to understand mechanical movement and
the importance of simple machines. They
will see these moving parts up-close as they
follow instructions to build various machines
and contraptions, then use the models to
develop new design ideas, test out physics
concepts, and even play games with their
partners and classmates. Cost – $165

Mechanical Masterminds Engineering
Theme – STEM
Location – Minnehaha Lower
Time – 12:30-4pm
Dates – 7/20 – 7/24
Age Range – 8-12
Mechanical
Masterminds gives your
student the tools they need to understand
mechanical movement through the
foundations of simple machines, physics, and
engineering design. They will see moving
parts up-close as they follow instructions
to build various machines, then use the
models to develop new design ideas, test
out physics concepts, and even play games
with their partners and classmates. Spinning
battle tops, motorized spirographs and
remote control claw grabbers are just the tip
of the engineering iceberg!

Video Game Design
Theme – Technology
Location – Coon
Rapids/Anoka
Time – 1-4pm
Dates – 7/20 – 7/23
Age Range – 9-13
Create your own video game in this awesome
Snapology camp. We’ll teach students how to
design their very own side-scrolling platforming
game with Stencyl game creation software.
Level and character design, as well as traps,
elevators and projectiles are all covered. They
even get to take their game home on a flash
drive that can be shared and played at home
with family & friends. Don’t miss out!

Minecraft Animation
Theme – Technology
Location – Coon Rapids
/Anoka
Time – 9am-12pm

Let’s make super cool Minecraft movies with
stop motion animation using LEGO® bricks!
Teams will go through the entire movie
making process, from plot and character
planning to editing, all using Minecraft as the
backdrop for the movies. The best part is the
kids will get to take home their movies so
they can show friends and family!

Calling all gamers! Have a blast creating
robotic games each day of this aweome camp
while learning about robotics and coding.
Students will learn about gear ratio, sensors,
programming, and pulleys as they create fun
to play games. Whether creating a robotic
hockey player or a ring toss, your child is sure
to have fun building, learning, and playing.

Children will begin to explore the world of
robotics as they build simple animal models
that teach the fundamentals of robotic
design. Whether learning about sensors
while building a fish or alligator or discovering
ways that gears and wheels and axles create
movement while building robotic dogs or
frog, your child is sure to have a great time!

While they explore, they will be challenged to
work with a partner to solve different LEGO

the finish line! Not only will your student be
learning about world cultures and developing
an appreciation for cultural differences, but
they will be competing in fun challenges to
test their building and problem-solving skills.

In Snapology’s Real World Robotics camp,
students interested in technology will create
robotic models inspired by real life robotic
technologies. Students will learn about gear
ratio, sensors, simple machines, and coding
as they build alarm devices, earthquake
detectors, robotic arms, and much more.
We’ll have a blast exploring the world of
robotic technologies as we build, learn,
program and play.
