How Snapology Camps Work
Snapology Camps Locations
CURRICULUM: Snapology camps provide a perfect mixture of learning and fun. We
incorporate the education, social skills and STEAM concepts into the creating, inventing,
games and fun. All of the learning principles taught in our programs are mapped to
Common Core Standards and many are mapped to Next Generation Science Standards.
CAMP TIMING: Each week has numerous camps that are as short as 3 hours and as
long as 35 hours.
FULL DAY CAMPS: All of the camps taking place at our Discovery Center can be
registered for as either morning or afternoon camps or combined into a full day/full
week camp that cover 2 different themes that work well together. There are separate
registration links for morning/afternoon/full day. Children should bring bagged lunches
to eat with the group each day if they are signed up for full day camps.
NEW FOR 2020 FULL DAY CAMPS – EXTENDED CARE: Families can take
advantage of additional care during weeks when children are registered for FULL DAY
summer camps. Extended care starts at 7:30am each morning until camp starts at 9am,
and then resumes at 4pm until 5:30pm.
DROP-OFF/PICK-UP: Camps at Snapology’s Discovery Center start at 9am and end
at 4pm. Children can be dropped off between 8:30-9am and can be picked up between
4-4:30pm if not participating in extended care. If you’re signing up for a half day camp,
please pick up between 12-12:30pm for AM camps and drop off between 12:30-1pm for
PM camps.
AGES: The schedule has something for everyone! Short Pre-K camps, educational
and fun camps for kids going into Kindergarten, awesome grade school camps, and
programs designed specifically for middle schoolers as well. We try to spread them
all out evenly throughout the summer and around the city. The ages listed on our
schedule are a recommendation but not a requirement, so if you feel your child would be
interested in a camp just outside of their age on either side, we’re ok with you registering
for that camp.
PARTNER LOCATIONS: We’re running camps throughout the city this summer with
awesome partners like Blake, Minnehaha Academy, Groves Academy, Sabes JCC, New
Life Academy, Justice Page, kiddywampus, Friends School, in conjunction with Savage,
St. Paul, Roseville, St. Louis Park, Minnetonka and Champlin Community Education as
well as at Parks & Rec in Minneapolis, Plymouth, Crystal, Minnetonka, Eden Prairie and
Falcon Heights. Most partners are updating their camp section in the next few weeks,
so if you see a camp at a location that doesn’t have a link yet, check back soon! We’ll
also add registrations links onto our calendar of events as they become available.
EXERCISE AND ENERGY: While Snapology’s camps include some games and
activities that get the kids moving, we’re firmly in the academic camp arena. However,
most of our partners provide physical camps that can be paired with Snapology camps,
so your children can get some energy out and learn and build as well. Our Discovery
Center is 1 block away from Whittier School, which happens to have a fantastic park and
field. We will offer families the option of having their children go over to the park with our
staff for 15-20 minute breaks in the morning and afternoon to run a bit, but it all depends
on weather and activities we have scheduled so it might not happen every day. Most of
our camps happening at partner locations also include in break where we can use the
on-site playgrounds and facilities to get some energy out.
REGISTRATION: The “Camp Registration Calendar” link below will take you to a
calendar view of the summer, or you can get to the calendar from our website. You can
toggle the view by location or a full list of events if you’d like to see everything we’ve got
to offer in a different way. When you click on a camp, you will see which ages the camps
are generally suited for, timeframe and information about the camp content.
