IN LOWER AUSTRIA
Biking for Kids – Spitz (22 km)
Start at the roll ferry pier in Spitz and cycle comfortably
along the Danube cycle Path, on the left
bank towards Weißenkirchen. In Weißenkirchen,
visitors can swim in the outdoor swimming-area
next to the boat station. Continue to Dürnstein,
where cyclists cross the Danube via the motor
ferry. The ferry will dock right next to a fine sandy
beach in Rossatz. On the Danube Cycle Path,
head upstream to Mitterarnsdorf, where one can
take a taxi to the other bank of the Danube.
Tip: Outdoor bathing places in Weißenkirchen and
Rossatz
Biking for Kids – Emmersdorf (8 km)
The tour starts at the tourist information point at
the roundabout in Emmersdorf. Cycle upstream
along the Danube and enjoy beautiful views of the
Melk Abbey as well, as the large white Danube
ships. Along the way, pass Luberegg, the longest
natural sandy beach along the Danube. Ideal
for children as there is almost no current. A little
further along the path is the leisure center Weiten-
egg, with a family-friendly beach offering pedal
boats, surfing opportunities and much more.
Along the same way, the route returns to the
starting point of the tour. Tip: Pedal boat ride
in the leisure center Weitenegg
Adventure tour through the Garden-city
Tulln (15 km)
All in all, 6 exciting and child-friendly stations lead
through Tulln. Just follow the signs »Radeln für
Kids«, entry is possible at all stations of the route.
In the GARTEN TULLN (Garden Tulln), children
can let off steam at the largest natural playground
in Lower Austria and climb the treetop trails. The
Aubad-bath and the recreation park are a paradise
for those keen for water slides, a floating octopus,
a sandy beach and adventure streams.

from Stockerau & Wördern (19 km)
From the Stockerau station, cycle on three different
routes through the Danube floodplains in the direction
of Altenberg and the Greifenstein power station,
where one learns interesting facts about the Danube

ALONG THE DANUBE CYCLE PATH
and the Au-flood plains. Entry points are possible at
the stations Stockerau and Greifenstein; the routes
are signposted.

Petronell – Bratislava (26 km)
Start the tour in Petronell with the inviting Roman
city of Carnuntum. At its original location, the
essential architectural types of a Roman quarter
were reconstructed including its historical context:
a town house, a splendid city villa and a public spa
complex. Back along the bike path, follow the main
road in an easterly direction until you arrive in Bad
Deutsch-Altenburg. Continue then towards Hainburg
and Bratislava. In the Slovak capital, visitors
can, for example, explore the Devin Castle or stroll
through the old town.
Tip: Experience the Roman era up close in the
Roman city of Carnuntum
