TERRA AVENTURA, THE INCREDIBLE TREASURE HUNT

Do you love to walk around and discover the secret corners of a territory in an unusual way? Then

you’ll love playing Terra Aventura, the world’s largest touristic treasure hunt. The game combines

an outdoor stroll with the discovery of the region’s heritage and natural resources. It is a 100% free

activity, based on geocaching, and requires a smartphone or GPS. It is available in five languages,

all year round, and plunges you into an extraordinary imaginary world.

MORE THAN 400 FASCINATING COURSES

THROUGHOUT NOUVELLE-AQUITAINE

Wherever you go in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, there

is a Terra Aventura course nearby. The routes,

from 3 to 14 kms, are designed to be fun for

the whole family.

Once you have selected your route on the

map, according to your position, or the

theme of the walk, let yourself be guided on

the application. At each stage of the journey,

answer a question related to where you are,

carefully observing the clues around you.

These puzzles, often full of surprises and

humour, are a fun way to learn about the

area’s history and culture. Terra Aventura

routes are also a treasure, with clues leading

to a hidden bottle containing a logbook and a

guest-book where players can leave their own

messages.

Don’t forget to look out for The Poïz! These are

small characters to be collected in the form of

badges. These little imaginary beings indicate

the theme of the walk: Zéfaim for gastronomy,

Zouti for know-how, Zarthus for nature,

Zabeth for historical heritage, Zalambic for

wines and spirits. Once you have “adopted”

one, you will want to catch them all. There are

35 Terra Aventura themes in total.

THREE MUST-SEE COURSES

At the towers of La Rochelle

Poïz’ Zisséo

(Thematic Maritime Heritage)

3 km / 1h30

Facing the ocean, close to the Île de Ré and Île

d’Oléron, La Rochelle is a dynamic city with a

prestigious heritage. The city’s two towers are

a starting point to discover the city through

its different ports. But it is a secret city that

Zisséo will reveal to you through streets lined

with arcades and an exciting history around

aristocratic houses and mansions.

Montignac, a history of bridges

Poïz’ Zéchopp

(Thematic Theory of Trade History)

2 km / 1h

Located in the heart of the Dordogne Valley

and the gateway to the Vézère Valley (known

as the Prehistory Valley), Montignac has

preserved all its medieval charm through its

narrow streets and its varied heritage. The

International Centre of Parietal Art attracts all

history lovers, but it is another Montignac that

Zéchopp wants you to discover through the

splendour of this village and its various shops.

Everyone is looking for their own style - Bayonne

Poïz’ Zegraff

(Thematic Street Art)

5 km / 2h

Bayonne, the gateway to the Pays Basque,

enjoys a privileged geographical location: 10

minutes from the ocean, 30 minutes from

Spain and 40 minutes from the foothills of

the Pyrenees. A stroll through the alleys of

the Petit and Grand Bayonne is pleasant, but

it is the unusual side of the city that Zegraff

wants you to discover through street art. You

will be surprised to see how much the streets

themselves have to say in Bayonne.

Terra Aventura application is available in

five languages: English, French, German,

Dutch and Spanish.
