MACH 2020

FICEP ANNOUNCES FIRST UK DEMO OF

VALIANT AND SN100 Stand No: 330 Hall 6

Ficep UK will be showcasing the machinery

which has made it such a household name in

the steel processing sector and the go-to

brand for companies across the UK and

celebrating its 20th anniversary at MACH

2020. Stealing the limelight is the updated

Valiant with SN100 Saw. Developed by a

specialist team of 20 Ficep technologists,

Valiant and the SN100 Saw represents the

advanced engineering and investment which

has seen Ficep retain its position as the

leading provider of CNC steel processing

equipment for two decades.

As Ficep UK celebrates its 20th

anniversary in 2020, Mark Jones, who’s been

at the helm of the company these past two

decades, says resilience is the steel industry’s

secret weapon and in the next decade the

industry needs to focus on tackling big issues.

Uncertainty dominated 2019 and resulted

in 2020 Q1 growth forecasts downgraded to

Mills CNC to showcase 18 high-performance

Doosan machines and a range of advanced

automation systems and solutions on its stand

at MACH 2020.

Mills CNC, the exclusive distributor of

Doosan machine tools in the UK and Ireland, is

showcasing a range of advanced machine tool

and automation solutions on its stand at MACH

2020 .

Mills CNC has traditionally viewed the

MACH Show as a critically important element

of its marketing programme and, historically,

has used the event to launch a number of new

Doosan machines and a range of its latest

technology advances and service initiatives to

visitors.

The company invests significant resources

in its presence at MACH and regularly has the

largest stand at the event.

At this year’s MACH Show it’s a similar

situation with Mills showcasing 16 advanced

Doosan lathes, machining centres and mill-turn

machines on its own stand and two Doosan

machines on Technical Partner stands.

The Mills stand is also the location where

visitors can see a range of sophisticated

0.3 from 0.6 due to both the UK and global

outlook. However, Mark, believes that

uncertainty and change will become the norm

across the business world as the sands shift

towards different practices and behaviours.

For industries like steel, that means

developing a readiness to adapt and evolve

two things which the sector has, traditionally,

been slow to do.

Located in Wakefield Europort, the

company’s continued success and growth

over the past two decades is down to several

factors. It has a significant pedigree in the

form of its parent company Ficep S.p.A based

in Italy, which has a dedicated research and

innovation team constantly developing

market-leading technology. Alongside this,

Mark and his team have created several

strong partnerships with complementary

manufacturers, enabling them to offer the

widest range of steel processing machinery to

the UK market. Plus the extensive showroom

facility can be used for customer training and

product demonstration and has a huge spare

stock facility to minimise downtimes for

fabricators.

Mark states “It’s fantastic to celebrate our

20th anniversary at MACH2020 - a show

which has been the highlight of our calendar

for many years. Since starting Ficep UK, the

UK steel sector has seen many changes and

faced many challenges and I’m proud to have

led Ficep over the last two decades”.

MILLS CNC TO SHOWCASE Stand No: 100 Hall 19

Academy.

Says Kevin Gilbert, Mills CNC’s managing

director “We will be showcasing an impressive

cross-section of Doosan machine tools on our

stand – many of which are new models making

their UK and/or MACH debuts at this year’s

event. Doosan machine tools set new

benchmarks for performance, productivity,

reliability and best value. The machines we’re

taking to MACH 2020 highlight all of these

attributes.”

GRINDING AND

TURNING TAKE

CENTRE STAGE

Stand No: 265 Hall 20

RK International Machine Tools will focus

attention on its extensive grinding machine

portfolio and the recently introduced EUROPA

eturn VS range of manual lathes at MACH 2020.

In total seven machines will be on display with

all but one under power. Grinding machines

shown come from its long-term supplying

partners Robbi, Perfect, Delta, and Jainnher;

covering all aspects of abrasive machining

through universal grinding, surface grinding,

vertical spindle rotary table grinding and

centreless grinding. Those looking for manual

turning will be able to see and discuss the

EUROPA eturn VS range represented at MACH

2020 by the mid-range VS390 gap bed lathe.

There will be two machines on show from

Robbi, these being the Robbi Omicron 600R

conventional universal grinder and the

company’s latest development, the Robbi

Omicron T7 PLC universal grinder. The

Omicron 600R is the smallest in the R-series

with a between centre distance of 600 mm (up to

1000 mm available on other machines).

Delivering high standards of precision, with

roundness of 0,8 micron and cylindricity from 2

to 6 micron, its versatility and flexibility also

make it ideal for small batch production.

The Perfect range of grinders will be

represented by the X36 high precision PLC

touch screen controlled surface grinder.

Representing the Delta range will be the

LC400 vertical spindle, rotary table surface

grinder. The LC400 can grind up to 400 mm

diameter and up to 205 mm in height. While a

manual machine as standard the LC40 can be

equipped with Delta’s L11E automation system.

Centreless grinding is represented by the

Jainnher JHC12S machine. This machine allows

through-feed and plunge grinding of

components measuring up to 40mm diameter

while holding micron level accuracies.

Completing the display is the brand new

EUROPA eturn VS390 manual lathe with a 390

mm swing over the bed (610 in the gap). The

range also features eturn Energy Management

Technology (EEMT), which helps reduce

energy consumption, particularly at times when

the machine is stood idle by putting the lathe

into sleep mode and switching off all

unnecessary power consumption.
