Whilst widely known as ‘the sliding head
tooling experts’, Floyd Automatic Tooling
will also be introducing new tool clamping
technologies from Schaublin (Swiss), that
will emphasise why the company offers so
much more than tooling for the precision
component machining industry. To cater for
manufacturers of cylindrical cutting tools,
Floyd Automatic will be demonstrating the
quality and diversity of the Schaublin range
of products, and in particular, the exciting
SRS range of collet clamping heads with its
unique precision runout adjustment system
that give repeatability within 2µm. At the
UK’s showpiece manufacturing event, Floyd
will demonstrate the flexibility of the
Schaublin SRS system for grinding machines
using W or B type draw type collets. The SRS
system is an exciting prospect capable of
enhancing the capability for tool grinding

shops.
Also on show for manufacturers in the
grinding arena will be the impressive patent
pending PR25 quick change collet system.
Perfect for clamping drills, end mills,
reamers and other cutting tools, the quick
change PR25 is perfect for cutting tool
manufacturers in a production environment
where a lot of collet changeovers are
required. With no ‘on-machine’ changes
necessary, minimal run-out, low-wear
characteristics and minimal dispersion of the
run-out, this high-quality solution is a ‘musthave’
for grinding shops and cutting tool
manufacturers. These new clamping
solutions are supported by Floyd with the
complete range of Schaublin precision W,
and B type collets available in the famous
‘orange box’.
Complementing the SRS and PR25 quick
change heads, Floyd Automatic will also
exhibit the Schaublin series of HSK A, HSK C
and HSK E tool holders. High-quality and
ultra-precise, the Schaublin HSK series has
been developed to ensure optimal
toolholding precision when working on
high-speed machining and grinding centres,
transfer machines and other high-end
machine tools that demand the utmost in
precision with high clamping forces.

A NEW BENCHMARK FOR ACCURACY
Stand No: 19-631
Midlands based metrology and inspection
specialists, Optimax, will showcase the most
accurate purely optical micro-coordinate
measuring machine in its class - the Bruker
Alicona µCMM at MACH 2020.
The µCMM revolutionises the production
process, overcoming the inefficiencies of
traditional methods by enabling the
complete automatic measurement of
position, dimension, form and roughness in
one device. With its newly patented ‘Vertical
Focus Probing Technology,’ the µCMM can
uniquely measure vertical walls with a slope
of + 90°. This device can measure tight
tolerance features, even on very smooth
surfaces, into the nanometer range (1000
nanometers to a Micron).
An automated robust and intuitive
instrument, with a 310mm measurement
capacity, the µCMM is carefully engineered
for permanent use in the production process.
Measurement times are significantly reduced
by 5 - 50 times with measurement of patch 3D
data clouds on selected areas and a drastic
increase in travel speed on the X Y Z axis. Its
intuitive and ergonomic design facilitates
multi-user use without specialist-training.

NEW WIDIA
MILLING &
TURNING LINES
Stand No: 555 Hall 20
With MACH 2020 rapidly approaching,
Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC) is
relishing the opportunity to introduce its UK
manufactured cutting tool innovations, as
well as the very latest technology from
partners such as BIG KAISER, Bass, Stock,
Lexington, Kemmler and of course, Widia.
The Tamworth cutting tool experts will
once be taking MACH by storm with its
aesthetically attractive stand design that will
be crammed with new technology, much of
which will be supplied via technology
partner Widia. Recognised for the quality
and longevity of its solid carbide end mills,
Widia will be giving a MACH premiere to its
new range of 4U50 and 4U80 shallow pitch
roughing cutters. Perfect for stainless steel
and high-temperature alloys, the new solid
carbide end mills demonstrate reliable
consistent performance at higher machining
parameters when conducting prolonged
machining cycles on challenging aerospace
grade materials.
Designated as shallow pitch roughing
tools for high material removal rates in the
aerospace industry, the new Widia 4U50 and
4U80 Series is available with four or six
cutting edges with a harmonically designed
flute geometry and the choice of a short cut
length (4U50 Series) for superior rigidity or a
regular cut length (4U80 Series) with both
enhanced cutting performance and stability
when conducting heavy-duty roughing.
Complementing the new 4U50 and 4U80
at MACH 2020 will be the extended Victory
X-Feed (VXF) high-feed milling range of
indexable milling cutters. Available as screwon,
cylindrical, Weldon and shell mill
variants, the VXF demonstrates astounding
flexibility with the ability to undertake
facing, 3D profiling, pocket milling, contour,
deep pocket, helical interpolation and Z-axis
contour plunge milling. At MACH, ITC will
be giving an exhibition debut to the new
VXF-07, VXF-09 and VXF-16 insert
designations; dimensions that will increase
the appeal and capabilities of this innovative
range.
