Auditor Appointment<br />

The <strong>Madison</strong> County Republican Central<br />

Committee will hold a special meeting<br />

appointment to the vacant position of London<br />

city auditor.<br />

Bingo<br />

Bingo is played at 11 a.m. the third<br />

Wednesday of each month at the Jeffersonian<br />

Senior Center at the rear of 28 E. Main<br />

St., West Jefferson. There is no charge to<br />

Cemetery Clean-Up<br />

Spring cleaning for the Fairfield Township<br />

cemeteries begins <strong>March</strong> 20. Winter<br />

decorations and old flowers should be removed<br />

prior to that date. New spring decorations<br />

and Easter flowers will be honored.<br />

Clothing Giveaway<br />

United Church, 30 E. Columbus St.,<br />

Mount Sterling, holds a clothing giveaway<br />

from 9 to 11 a.m. the second Saturday of<br />

each month. Use the side door on High<br />

Street to enter the church basement. Everyone<br />

is welcome. Take what you need; no<br />

limit and no questions asked. If you plan to<br />

visit the church to donate or pick up clothing,<br />

Developmental Disabilities<br />

The <strong>Madison</strong> County Board of Developmental<br />

Disabilities will meet at 4 p.m.<br />

<strong>March</strong> 19 at the administrative office, 500<br />

Elm St., London. If the meeting needs to be<br />

rescheduled, it will take place on the following<br />

Thursday at the same time.<br />

Easter Egg Hunts<br />

• Mount Sterling Community Center’s<br />

annual Community Easter Egg Hunt is set<br />

for 10 to 11:30 a.m. April 11, rain or shine.<br />

Age categories are: 2 and younger, 3-5, 6-8,<br />

and 9-11. All are invited to go inside the<br />

center after the hunt for activities, refreshments,<br />

and a visit with the Easter Bunny.<br />

The center is located at 164 E. Main St.<br />

• First Presbyterian Church, 211<br />

Garfield Ave., London, is holding its first<br />

annual Community Easter Egg Hunt from<br />

1 to 3 p.m. April 4. Age groups are 1-4, 5-7,<br />

and 8-11. Lots of eggs, craft stations, face<br />

painting, prize tokens, and one grand prize<br />

for each age group. Bring a basket or bag.<br />

The hunt will go on, rain, snow or shine (indoors,<br />

if needed).<br />

Euchre<br />

Euchre is played at 6 p.m. the last Friday<br />

of each month at the Jeffersonian Senior<br />

Center at the rear of 28 E. Main St., West<br />

Jefferson. There is no charge to play, but<br />

snacks and finger foods are requested. For<br />

Mattress Fundraiser<br />

<strong>Madison</strong>-Plains High School’s baseball<br />

program is hosting its 1st Annual Mattress<br />

Fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. <strong>March</strong> 28.<br />

For one day only, the high school will be<br />

transformed into a mattress showroom.<br />

Twenty-six mattress styles in all sizes,<br />

priced below retail, will on display for customers<br />

to try. Adjustable power bases, premium<br />

pillows, bed frames and mattress<br />

protectors will be available, as well. The<br />

brands include Simmons Beautyrest, come<br />

with full factory warranties, are made to<br />

order, and will be available two to three<br />

weeks after the fundraiser. Delivery is<br />

available. The <strong>Madison</strong>-Plains baseball program<br />

benefits from every purchase.<br />
