a member of the Class of 2020, is
a political science major and philosophy
minor; one of Assumption’s
Vocal Scholars; the current president
of Chorale; and a member of the select
a cappella chamber ensemble
Voce, which means “voices” in Latin.
She also performed as one of the
narrators in the college’s 2018 production
of Joseph and the Amazing
Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Orange County, a charitable organization,
donated funds to the Oakland
Police Department to assist with the
department’s purchase of ballistic
shields and vests. The equipment will
better protects officers in the field.

Kalen Wright, a Dr. Phillips
High School Class of 2011 alumna,
graduated from the University
of Louisville School of Medicine.
She will begin a residency in emergency
medicine at Harvard Medical
School’s Massachusetts General
Hospital and Brigham and Women’s
Hospital next month. Kalen looks
forward to the diversity of cases
and fast pace of the ER. She thanks
the Disney Scholarship Program for
helping her to obtain chemistry and
biology degrees from the University
of Kentucky. Kalen’s proud parents
are Keith and Donna Wright of
Windermere.
