From Our Family to Yours Committed to finding a Cure...
When we show up each day for our work, we are reminded every minute of not just our mission, but
the results of what we do. Not many people can say that. We can, and we aren’t alone. You, too, see the
results whenever you look in the mirror. You see the face of someone who has known the effects of
breast cancer – in yourself, a friend, a coworker or relative – and has stepped up to fight.
Every day, survivors tell us how breast cancer became an uninvited guest, and how they struggled to
evict it. Now they live for the day when it will stand at no one’s door, ever.
We want that to happen in our lifetimes. We think it can. For every woman affected, there are countless
others aligned with us against it: Researchers, doctors and health care workers; accountants, bus drivers,
grocery clerks; attorneys, teachers, and engineers. Breast cancer is outnumbered.
From the staff at Komen, thank you for sharing your gifts, your time and your memories. Our daily
work to eradicate breast cancer is personal. So is our gratitude.
