15 Years & Moving Forward As the Susan G. Komen Oregon & SW Washington Affiliate turns 15, it is a time to reflect on our successes to date and remain focused on our mission to eradicate breast cancer. Ours is one of the five largest Komen affiliates in the country, measured by dollars raised for research, health education, screening, and community outreach into isolated regions. There is much work to do in the fight against breast cancer. Early detection is key – studies show that when breast cancer is found early, the five-year survival rate is 96 percent. Moving forward, we fix our eyes on the prize: a cure.
