this year’s Draft Annual Plan

consultation until April 5 and
will be finalised before July 1.
The 2018-2028 Long Term
Plan also predicts a 50 per cent
rates increase over 10 years.

School achieved just that in

Because of her dedication,
the year 12 student
recently received a silver
Student Volunteer Army
award once she reached the
milestone.
“I was super excited, and
it was such a great feeling
knowing I was using my
time to help other people in
some way,” she said.
The Covid-19 pandemic
originally put her volunteering
efforts to a halt.
Prior to the lockdown,
she had done about 20
hours of service; face
painting at the children’s
day event in New Brighton
and watering native trees
at Drayton Park, Mt
Pleasant.
She did not let the
limitations of lockdown get
her down and instead used
the time to gather materials
around the house to knit
a blanket which was later
donated to the Red Cross.

Said Bridget: “It’s such
a good feeling to see the

the community, whether
it’s creating something or
volunteering your time.
“You never know when
you’re the one who will
need help, especially
now during the Covid-19
pandemic.”
