Tasty Middle Eastern takeaways
a popular choice in Halswell
Now firmly established as one of
Halswell’s most popular takeaway food
outlets, Souvlaki King offers an extensive
range of authentic Middle Eastern food
that’s fresh, healthy and delicious.
They have introduced two new items
to the menu, offering even more choice
for customers. These are the $12 Snack
Box, which comprises scrumptious hot
chips with lamb, beef, chicken, falafel or
mixed, topped with cheese and barbeque
sauce or your choice of chili sauce, and the
traditional Shawarma, which is a roll filled
with meat, vegetarian falafel or feta cheese,
and topped with barbeque or your choice
of chili sauce. This is also $12, or $15 with
hot chips.
Both these items are proving very popular
for lunch, the business owners say.
The souvlakis are available in three
portion sizes – small, large or triple, with
a choice of chicken, lamb, beef, kofta or
falafel and served with coleslaw, lettuce,
tzatziki, hummus and your choice of chili
or barbeque sauce.
All ingredients used at
Souvlaki King are sourced
locally to ensure freshness and
quality, including the meats,
which are supplied by the local
butchery.
The falafel is freshly prepared
every day to their own secret recipe,
and is another very popular item,
even for non-vegetarian customers,
and all the salads and sauces are
prepared on the premises every day.
For a sweet taste, they offer the traditional
baklava, and cake slices,
while beverages
include a selection
of coffees, teas, hot
chocolate, milk shakes
and thick shakes.
Souvlaki King has just
launched its website, www.
souvlakiking.nz, so you can
now order online and your
food will be ready to pick up
and pay for when you arrive.
You can also order by phone,
(03) 322-4888. Pre-ordering is
especially recommended on the
busy Friday and Saturday nights.

of parking outside. Opening hours
are Monday to Thursday 10am-8pm,
Friday 10am-9pm, Saturday 11am-
9pm, Sunday 11am-8pm.
