Mr. Houser: The district has initiated participation of students as student representatives at Board Meetings to offer insight into district and student community highlights, activities and issues. Please welcome our guests: High School Representative: Caitlin Lundy and Caitlin’s parents: Mr. & Mrs. Lundy. Mr. Houser: Caitlin would you like to say a few words? Caitlin Lundy: Hello everyone, I am Caitlin Lundy and I am the representative of Barnegat High School tonight. In eight short days it will be Barnegat High School’s first graduation and right now all the students, especially seniors are getting ready for finals. The senior prom is this Friday and seniors are anxiously waiting. Tomorrow is the second annual Powder Puff game and starts at 5:30 on the varsity football field. As a member of the first graduating class I would like thank the Barnegat Board of Education and the community for all their support these four years. Thank you. SPECIAL PRESENTATION BY VFW Mr. Houser: The Barnegat Board of Education would like to welcome Mr. Taylor from Barnegat VFW Post 10092, who will present a special award at this time from the VFW. . Mr. Taylor: Folks, I want to introduce the Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10092, John Rivers. I would also like to introduce our own Leslie Ann Thompson if we can find her, where she is at, come up here, please. Is she here? Voice: Her Mom is here. Mr. Taylor: Her mother is here on her behalf, she is tied up, she is caught in traffic. Commander Rivers: As Post Commander I would like to thank President Houser and the Board Members for this opportunity to present this award for outstanding patriotism in our community to Leslie. The plaque reads: The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Barnegat Post 10092 bestows upon Leslie Ann Thompson the Medal of Recognition for Outstanding Patriotism. We at the Post have come to know and admire her. Her interest and knowledge of American veterans does credit to her profession. With such teachers as Leslie we know that the students in her classes will go forth with a better understanding of our military both past and present. The dedication of such citizens assures us that history and achievement of this great country will be passed on and for this we thank Leslie. Thank you and God Bless America.
