chosen Leslie to work here is the fact that our soldiers or anyone who served in the Armed
Forces is someone that not only do I think this community and this Board of Education, but
anyone can really tip their hat to, it is something outstanding. And besides serving in the war,
we need a connection to those people and I am going to ask Mr. Rivers to stand up, John stand
up, John has been an outstanding individual working with us through the VFW for years and
hats off to John, he is a great guy. Thank you. Outstanding job, John, thanks so much.
EXECUTIVE SESSION RESOLUTION
Mr. Houser: At this time the Board will request a Resolution for Executive Session at this point
of the meeting of the Barnegat Township Board of Education on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 for the
purpose of lawsuits, personnel and contracts.
Mrs. Taylor: So moved
Mrs. Sarno: Second
Mr. Falkowski: First by Mrs. Taylor, second by Mrs. Sarno.
Mr. Houser: Discussion?
Mr. Falkowski: All in favor? Aye.
Mr. Houser: Opposed? Motion carries. We will try to be as quick as we possibly can hopefully
we should be out in approximately 30 minutes.
WHEREAS, Section 8 of the Open Public Meeting Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-12 permits
the exclusion of the public from a meeting in certain circumstances and
WHEREAS, this public body is of the opinion that such circumstances exist.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education of the
Township of Barnegat in the County of Ocean and State of New Jersey, as
follows:
The public shall be excluded from discussion on the actions upon the hereinafter
specified subject matter(s) school busing/contracting/pricing of study, posting of
severance amounts, lawsuits, personnel, contracts and July and August request to
carry weapons.
The general nature of the subject matter(s) to be discussed is listed in Executive
Session, Executive Discussion and Executive Information.
It is anticipated at this time that the subject matters will be made public, if and
when, confidentiality is no longer needed. Action may be taken.
