Gabrielle Williams: GreatHorse
My name is Gabrielle Williams and I am a senior at Minnechaug Regional High School. My
plans after high school are to go to my top school Roger Williams and major in English.
English is my first choice, but my experience here may possibly sway me to pursue a career
in marketing. On my first day as an intern at Greathorse, I arrived not knowing what to
expect. As soon I walked through the door, everyone was so kind and supportive. They
asked me questions about myself and instantly made me feel welcome. I am so excited to
have the opportunity to intern at Greathorse. I have only been here for a short time, but I
always look forward to what the day holds and what I will be doing. During my time here I
have found myself learning something new every day, and I am very excited to see where I
go from here and what the future holds!
Ben Murphy: USA Enfield
My name is Ben Murphy and I am a Junior Accounting Major at Western New
England University in Springfield, Massachusetts. What I liked most about my
time here at USA Hauling has been expanding my knowledge on certain software
programs such as Tower and Excel. The people here are very welcoming and
answer any questions I have. They help me understand certain tasks I have
worked on, whether it is working the copier or changing filters in the Tower
software. My plans for the future are to acquire my master’s degree from Western
New England, pass the CPA exam, and to work in an accounting firm in the
Hartford area.
Hannah Stertzel: USA Enfield
My name is Hannah Stertzel and I am currently at Springfield College working on my M.S. in
Industrial/Organizational Psychology. I started off as a Human Resources Intern and then
got the opportunity to stay as a Human Resources Assistant. Within these roles I was able
to work on updating the employee handbooks, data entry, filing, conducting onboarding and
termination processes, and assisting with the transition into our new Human Resources
Information System (HRIS) Paychex Flex. I really enjoyed the working environment, my
fellow employees, the opportunities for growth, and of course Pizza Fridays. I learned a lot
about Human Resources from my supervisor Michelle and the rest of the Human Resources
team. I also got to learn a little about marketing from working with April and Jon on a variety
of tasks. Unfortunately, I will be leaving USA Hauling & Recycling in late May 2020. I will be
conducting my master’s degree research remotely in Austin, TX where I hope to obtain an
entry level position within Human Resources.
Myles Murren: USA Enfield
I am currently a senior attending Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. My major is in Business
Administration which means that I have the ability to grow my knowledge in multiple fields such as finance,
operations, marketing, human resources, and general management. I am looking forward to learning about the
technology that USA Hauling and Recycling uses in their daily operations in order to categorize and review inventory.
By learning this, I will be able to help with research and development of pricing proposals as well as formulate
competitive analyses. My future plans are to continue learning and growing within a professional environment to find
out which field of business I most enjoy and excel in.
