Coaching Workshop Rundown

On Thursday, February 6, 2020, we had a workshop
at Greathorse with Teamalytics. All managers from
all departments/companies were invited. The goal
for the workshop was Teambuilding. We watched
an interview with Bill Belichick at the start of the
workshop and discussed what we heard from him.
We reviewed the 5 universal fears and needs of
people, our Company Promise, and our principles.
We also learned what the makeup of most teams
looks like and how we can communicate better and
hold our teams accountable. After all of this we
watched the Bill Belichick interview again and
discussed what we heard this time from him.
The difference in what stood out to me at the
beginning versus the second time around of
watching the video was amazing. I heard what I
thought were negative comments from Bill when I
first watched the interview. After our coaching
session, I realized it wasn’t negative at all and that I
really need to watch what I focus on. I walked out of
there with a great feeling and a plan to make a
change.
Since the coaching session, I have applied what I
have learned with my team as well as my 5 year old
daughter. I have also found a couple more “truth
tellers” to hold me accountable when I am not
holding up to the Company Promise. I am excited
that the plan is to have more of these coaching
sessions; as I feel they call me out on my
constraints and teach me how to change my ways. I
also really appreciate the investment that this
company puts into its managers and employees.
We wouldn’t have these sessions if they didn’t want
us to succeed.
New Tool Allowance Program
The Company has created a new tool allowance to
supplement the cost of hand tools and specialty
tools required by an equipment mechanic, a
compactor repair technician, or a trailer mechanic.
Eligible employees can be reimbursed for an
amount up to the allowance on an annual basis at
the end of the 12-month period.
Proposed deadline for receipt submission to
managers is July 1, 2020 to be reconciled and
reimbursed by July 31, 2020. A list of employees
eligible to receive the reimbursements will be
reviewed and approved by the Director of Operations.
This will help our shops stay safe, efficient, and
modern!
