membersexhibited, the<br />
Annual Combined Show with<br />
Christchurch was ahighlight<br />
withour neighbours and held<br />
in the Tinwald Memorial Hall<br />
in March.<br />
It is with regret that a<br />
resignation wasreceivedfrom<br />

havebeen valuablemembers<br />
of the group andwewish them<br />
well in theirnew homeat<br />

Collection<br />
increase<br />
Some 162properties willbe<br />
added to the <strong>Ashburton</strong> District<br />
council’s rubbish collection<br />
routes as part of aproposed<br />
new revenue and financing<br />
policy.<br />
The propertiesinclude 120 at<br />
Willowby,four on Laings Road,<br />
three on Melrose Road, nine on<br />
Wilkinsons RoadatChertsey,<br />
six on Acton Road at Rakaia, 16<br />
at Methven’s Sam Holmes Drive<br />
and four at Village Green at<br />
Lake Hood.<br />
The extended solid waste<br />
collection areatakes the<br />
district’s growing areas into<br />
account andwill cost each<br />
household$230.<br />
The proposed revenue and<br />
financingpolicy sets out how<br />
councilfundsservices and<br />
activities with tools likea<br />
targeted rate, ageneral rate or<br />
uniform annual general charge.<br />
Itisout now for consultation,<br />
alongside anew development<br />
and financial contributions<br />
policy.<br />
Both public consultations are<br />
openfor feedback until <strong>July</strong>26<br />
with changesfrom <strong>July</strong>next<br />
year.<br />
Council is also proposing to<br />
changethe way it funds elderly<br />
persons housing, stockwater<br />
managementand wastewater<br />
under the revenue and<br />
financingpolicy, as well as<br />
suggesting some rating<br />
boundary changes for thesolid<br />
waste collection service to be<br />
extended.<br />
