ALLYL EPTANOATE /
ALLYL CAPROATE (ALLYL
HEXANOATE)
Allyl heptanoate has a fruitypineapple
and banana odour. It is
used as flavour in tropical fruit and
as fragrance for fruity and floral
composition. Allyl Hexanoate
(most known as Allyl Caproate)
has a pineapple like taste. Current
prices of both products are stable.

ANETHOLE EX-STAR ANISE
We are now in the season of the new harvest of star anise in
China. Since the new crop is just started in July and will last
until October, it is still too early to say what the situation
will be like in the near future. Star anise and derivatives
have been in shortage in the past 12 months. Moreover,
star anise is recognized for its anti-virus property, which
will make it even more popular during pandemic period.
Even if the harvest would be stable, the price of star anise
and derivatives might go up in Autumn and wintertime
again.
WHAT’S
BENZYL BENZOATE
Benzyl benzoate is in oversupply and quotations are
slightly cheaper compared to begin 2020. New capacity has
arrived on the market in the last 12 months, whereas the
demand has not increased as previously expected because
of COVID. Currently price for 1 FCL Benzyl benzoate is
around 2.0 USD/kg CFR. Price level should stay stable
during the next months.

FAMI-QS:
ECSA IS A CERTIFIED COMPANY
FOR SPECIALTY FEEDS
The numerous certifications obtained by ECSA over
the years are proof of the company’s efforts and interest
in numerous fields, ranging from product and process
quality to managing supply procedures and delivering
supplies. ECSA Chemicals has a team dedicated entirely
to the activities related to national and international laws;
in January 2020, it started working to achieve FAMI-QS
certification.
FAMI-QS is a certificate focused on specialty feeds
and on the mixture of ingredients they contain. It is
the European code of good practices for companies
active in the sector of additives and pre-mixtures for
specialty feeds. Its aim is the management of the various
processing phases while ensuring full hygiene and safety.
The standard can be applied to all the links in the chain
(including separately), e.g. transport, laboratories for the
analyses of these products, and can be extended to sellers
such as ECSA. Obtaining this certification confirms that
the entire supply chain, from “field to plate” is safe and
certified.

Manager. “Having FAMI-QS
certification opens new markets to ECSA and
also offers greater peace of mind and safety to our
customers, who will no longer have to organise
audits themselves - they will immediately have
the guarantee that every product meets safety
standards in every link of the supply chain.”
FAMI-QS is a recently introduced standard that is not
widespread yet, so it gives a competitive advantage to
certified companies, especially in international markets.
