9 GANGCHEON MOUNTAIN was designated
as Korea’s first county park on January 7, 1981.
Jeollabuk-do contains four famous national parks
and four provincial parks, but only two county
parks, including Jangansan and Gangcheonsan,
which are not nearly as widely known.

Nevertheless, Gangcheonsan is arguably one
of the most beautiful mountain parks in
Jeollabuk-do, particularly in the fall due to its
large number of native Korean maple trees,
which enjoy a long foliage period and put
on a spectacular show as the weather turns
toward winter.

10 JANGAN MOUNTAIN is designated
and developed as a county park where
the surrounding valleys and forests
are magnificent. Another specialty of
Jangansan Mountain is the vast silver
grass field that stretches from the main
peak to the east ridge. When the late
autumn breeze blows in the blooming
reed field, the scenery of the mountain
dancing with the waves of white reeds
is a spectacular view for hikers.
