ANALYSIS OF DRUGS & POISONS KIT
This kit enables students to identify some common over the counter drugs as well as learning test procedures for "controlled
substances". Test methods are developed for heavy metal poisoning such as lead and mercury. These procedures are used to determine
the presence or absence of lead or mercury at the scene of a crime. The analysis of simulated body fluids, such as urine,
is also carried out. *Controlled Substances are simulated For 6 groups of 4 students

ANALYSIS OF HAIR KIT
The Hair Analysis Kit provides students with the opportunity to use scientific methods and basic laboratory skills to study the
morphology of hair samples from various species. Written materials include a discussion of hair as evidence in forensic science,
directions for mounting hair samples and visualizing scale patterns, and illustrated descriptions of hair structures. After mastering
techniques and background information, students conduct two forensic examinations using standard procedures used by
forensic examiners. Includes instructional manuals and student worksheets. Designed for 24 students working in six groups of
four students each. Meets national standards for grade levels 9-12.
Additional items required but not included: Microscopes, hair brushes, forceps, plastic sandwich bags.
