Yiannos Trisokkas is the Managing
Partner of Henley & Partners Cyprus
and the Chairman of the firm’s Real
Estate Committee. He is also a Director
of Casamont Ltd, a real estate company
which is part of the Henley & Partners
Group. Casamont specialises in the
acquisition and management of distressed
assets and serves an international
clientele interested in investments in real estate linked to
residency-and citizenship-by-investment programmes.
Within that context, Casamont offers comprehensive
services, from buying and selling properties to after sales
services including property management and rental.
Frederico Seixas is the Sales &
Marketing Director of Investaureum.
He has 25 years of experience in the
real estate sector, of which seven are
directly with the investment migration
industry. The Investaureum Group is
a Portuguese Real Estate Investment
Group, specialised in Prime/Unique
Real Estate Chartered/Heritage
investments that are eligible for the Portugal Golden Visa
programme. Investaureum has been launching prime
real estate development projects, mainly located in
Lisbon, Porto, Alentejo the Douro Region and Algarve.
Unrealised Opportunities
Both Trisokkas and Seixas are convinced that real estate
will continue to play an important role in the investment
migration industry going forward. However, they acknowledge
that programmes are today offering a wider variety of
investment options, including investment in alternative
funds and start-up companies. They believe that offering
clients many different options is a positive development
for the industry, however, it will not challenge real estate’s
status as preferred route for investment migration.
Kotsaidis points out that global investors are becoming more
and more aware of the Greek market. “They have acquired a lot
of experience of the Greek real estate, and they know what to ask
for. In my opinion, agents and the developers need to recognize
that and help clients in a more efficient and transparent ways.”
According to Trisokkas, governments should pay more attention
to the benefits that real estate-linked investment programmes offer
and develop long-term strategies that would help them to better
manage and direct the flow of capital. “It doesn’t always have to be
residential property. Investor funds could also be channelled into
touristic, agricultural and industrial projects, for example.” Seixas
also foresees a positive evolution of the real estate route, which
will be closer linked to the development of a country’s economy,
for instance through investment in essential infrastructure such
as hospitals, universities and student accommodation. Policies
and regulations that take these elements into consideration would
help this investment option to fully realise its true potential.
Christos Kotsaidis started his
career in the shipping industry. With a
decade’s service in one of the largest
commercial shipping companies, he
gained profound knowledge of business
and then joined the energy sector as
the Commercial Director of a Greek
electricity company. Christos Kotsaidis
is now the CEO of Filia Investment,
which is currently constructing a luxury
complex on the island of Crete in Greece.
Gaye Hechme is the owner and
Managing Director of Island Living, one
of Antigua and Barbuda’s leading luxury
real estate companies, and Island Living
Investment Services Ltd, a corporate
service provider authorised to facilitate
and process applications for the Antigua
and Barbuda citizenship-by-investment
programme (CIP). She held a number
of senior management positions in both the private and
public sectors, primarily in inward investment and in the
acquisition, management and development of tourism
related residential and commercial real estate developments.
Cameron Fraser immigrated to Antigua
and Barbuda in 1967 and attended school
in both Antigua and Scotland. He’s been
involved with the expansion development
of Historic Redcliffe Quay, the development
and expansion of Cruise Tourism in Antigua
and Barbuda. Since 2004 to date, he has
been involved in the development and
management of Nonsuch Bay Resort as a
shareholder. He is currently a Director of Antigua Pier Group
Limited, a Director and shareholder of Coconut Beach Club,
a Director of key Properties Limited and Vice President of
the Antigua and Barbuda Cruise Tourism Association.
