skills at Cables Wake Park
Whether you’re willing to put your skills
to the test, or not, a day out at Cables Wake
Park Penrith is always an enjoyable one.
This tends to be the go-to place for
Penrith locals to spend their Australia Day
festivities with lots of activities for all ages.
On top of wake boarding, here you’ll
find a huge jumping pillow, water obstacle
course for all ages, lots of grass area and
shady picnic tables.
It’s a popular spot so we recommend
booking ahead for wake boarding and the
aqua park.
Enjoy a day in nature with an array of
swimming holes and bushwalks
Immerse yourself in all that western
Sydney has to offer with a fun, free, day
out around some of the region’s best
waterholes.
Lace up your walking shoes for some
bushwalking before taking a dip in mother
nature’s swimming pools.
Lake Parramatta Reserve, North
Parramatta; Hunts Creek Reserve,
Carlingford; Yarramundi Reserve, Yarramundi;
and Jelly Bean Pools, Glenbrook
are all standouts.
Lake Parramatta Reserve also has boat
hire, a fantastic kids playground and is
monitored by a lifeguard.
Parks and picnics for those on a budget
There’s plenty of spectacular playgrounds
and water splash parks around
the Greater Sydney region, bound to keep
the kids (and adults) cool and entertained
all day.
And what better way to celebrate
Australia Day than with an Aussie-style
picnic, complete with lamingtons and
sausage sandwiches of course!

A new water playground at Dawson-
Damer Park, Oran Park has a number of
water and non-water activities, including
water slides, water spinners, swings,
trampolines and basketball facilities; even
a ninja warrior course.
There are also basketball facilities and
picnic areas.
This facility is also inclusive, so great for
those with additional needs.
