Phone a friend and spread the good
news – the world’s greatest quiz show,
‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’, is back
on Channel Nine. The new series of
special episodes, which airs on Mondays
at 7.30pm, will be hosted by Eddie
McGuire and feature a roll call of the
nation’s favourite celebrities and sports
people, as well as frontline workers. In
the celebrity specials, stars will compete
as pairs in a battle to win $1 million for
their favourite charity. The star-studded
line-up includes actress Rachel Griffiths
with Rhys Muldone, television and radio
personality Red Symons with Wilbur
Wilde, actor Stephen Curry with Bernard
Curry, radio hosts Will and Woody, actor
Samuel Johnson with Hilde Hinton and
singer Ella Hooper with Jessie Hooper. In
the Australian sport stars special, athletes
including basketball legend Andrew Gaze,
AFL hero Gary Ablett Jr, AWFL’s Tayla
Harris, NRL icon Billy Slater, Netball’s
Geva Mentor, Olympican Mack Horton
and Paralympian Jess Gallagher, will be
competing for their chosen charities.
After more than 15 years, the ‘Sex and
the City’ TV series is officially back with

three of its four principal cast members
returning. Titled ‘And Just Like That’, the
10-part series will centre around Carrie
(Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte (Kristin
Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) as
they navigate love and friendship in their
50s. Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha
Jones, is not returning along with creator
Darren Star. The production is being
made for HBO Max but will likely screen
on Foxtel here.
New film ‘Coming 2 America’, which
sees Eddie Murphy reprise his famous
role as the prince of Zamunda, will
premiere on Amazon Prime on Friday,
March 5.
Despite being a disaster for Channel
Seven last year, ‘Pooch Perfect’ is getting
a US adaptation, to be hosted by Rebel
Wilson. Seven decided not to bring back
the series for Australian audiences.
Six-part ABC comedy ‘Aftertaste’,
starring Erik Thomson, will premiere on
the ABC next Wednesday, February 3 at
9pm. Thomson stars as a celebrity chef
who heads home to Adelaide after falling
from grace.
I watched plenty of shows during
the recent summer break, with two in
particular already in contention for a coveted
Chatter on the Box award later this
year. The first is new Stan drama series
‘Your Honor’, which stars the legendary
Bryan Cranston of ‘Breaking Bad’ fame.
And the other show I’m obsessed with is
‘Karate Kid’ revival ‘Cobra Kai’ on Netflix.
I watched all three seasons in less than a
week – that’s 30 episodes in five days!
