Patios in private gardens have developed into
lounge areas which people like to use all year
round. Large awning systems offer the right
protection from sun and rain. They are also
very popular in the gastronomy and hotel
industry. This is because these systems create
an outdoor hospitality area that can be used
at almost any time of day or year. For this
reason, markilux has expanded its product
range to include the “pergola stretch”.

The pergola stretch stands for size and a larger weather-protected, shaded area. For
the catering industry in particular, this offers a wide range of opportunities to fulfil
guests’ desire for experience-oriented catering in the open air.
Thanks to a special gear transmission, this model can be increased
in size once again, thus creating additional application
options. In combination with waterproof fabrics, it also offers protection
from rain.

installation. The awning can be coupled with several panels to allow
a total size of 25 × 7 m and thus shows true greatness, according to Gerling.
Each panel has its own radio-controlled motor.
Gear transmission with high driving force
The special feature of the “stretch version” is its innovative gear transmission.
According to Gerling, it transfers the driving forces optimally to the fabric
cover. The gearbox is housed in the front casing together with the electrical
components for light and heat options. The drive is connected to toothed
belt pulleys in the guide tracks and is pre-tensioned at the factory. It can be
easily re-tensioned by your specialist partner on site if necessary. And even
replacing the motor is quick and easy, as it is easily accessible through an
inspection shaft in the housing.
Canopy keeps rain and dirt out
The sunshade is available with two or three guide tracks, depending on the
width. To allow easy mounting of the rails on the housing, the wall brackets
can be fixed at an angle of 5° before setting the actual tilt angle. A wall connection
profile ensures a clean transition to the protective roof. It protects the
fabric against rain and dirt. The roof consists of individual profiles, the number
and size of which are tailored to the extension of the awning. Silicone seals
between the profiles and the housing prevent the scattering of rainwater.
