Surely I’m no expert at reading ECGs,<br />
but I think I can hint at what the monitor shows:<br />
the highs and the lows.<br />
My heart suddenly leaps with joy -<br />
it suddenly sinks with a panic attack.<br />
How do I unravel the juxtaposition<br />
of such excitement and terror?<br />
Except by putting my hand on my heart<br />
and taking comfort in the fact<br />
that my heart is still beating...<br />
And I am alive!<br />
