Warning flags in beach
It is autumn time here in Alanya and waves
has been very big few days, so please be
extra careful. Warning flags goes like this:
RED flag: Most serious of all beach warning
flags. Please do not go swimming. If there is
2 red flags, it means that beach is closed to
swimming.
Have you visit in Red Tower? I was living
here in Alanya more than 10 years before i
first time visit Red Tower.It is amazing
building. Built 1226 and often use as a
symbol of this city. More info from here
YELLOW flag: Conditions are rough but not
life threatening.
GREEN flag: Danger is lower than other flags
BLUE or PURPLE flag; There is sharks or
jellyfish or other dangerous marine life
near by.
City has again made new beautiful flower
bench for us! Also in wintertime Alanya is
making us proud because they are making
our city looking so stylish.
Yildirim was visiting us :) It was nice to see
him!

City of Alanya has made again new step in
their " Easy access in Alanya".
They have built a track to Cleopatra beach
what disabled people can use and go safely
to swim.
Really good work again Alanya municipality!!
Turkey started 11.11.2019 at 11.00 o'clock to
planting 11 million new trees.
Much forest has been burned and new
needs plant to these areas.

Today marks the creation of the Turkish
republic and is one of the most important
and celebrated holidays in Turkey.
Expect all banks and most shops to
be closed.
Today you will see a lot of Turkish flags and
of course pictures of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk
who was the first president of the Republic
of Turkey.
This morning there was a fire in the hillside
behind Cikcilli... So the flying fire choppers
were called in and took care of matters...
Cool to watch and soon the fire was out...

One of my biggest favorite food in Turkey
is KUMPIR! Its huge, baked potato, or jacket
potato, is a potato that has been baked for
eating. When well cooked, a baked potato
has a fluffy interior and a crisp skin. It may
be served with fillings and condiments such
as butter, cheese, sour cream, gravy or even
ground meat.Are you hungry already? I AM:)

Week ago, first time in my life, me, Finnish
sales manager went to see Opera. Place was
gorgeous Aspendos Amfi-theatre. Antalya
city opera gave us a WONDERFUL show,
AIDA. I think i started this my " opera road"
from quite high level. All was great; singers,
dancers, musicians,scenery.. And of course
that wonderful theater it self.
One year later, again in September, there
will be next Aspendos opera and balet
festival, so please, go and look those
wonderful shows. It is easy from Alanya
because many travel agency are making
trips to there and prices are really low.
Just remember to take pillow with you, stone
is quite hard to sit:).
We are so proud about our wonderful
airport, Gazipasa. Last week started direct
flights from Tehran, Iran. In the end of this
news behind the link, you can find all
countries and cities from where iare direct
flights to Gazipasa. It is easy to come to
Alanya, and more easy to stay here :-)

Lighthouse day is a day where we appreciate
the important value lighthouses have over
our coastlines.
If you do, do good!
City of Alanya has donated two container
house to older people. Their houses were
uninhabitable.
One home is for 82 years old lady who is
living with her handicap son and other one
to elderly lady. Now they have healthy houses
to live.
Thank you Alanya!
They insure no accidents happen as foreign
boats come in.
In fact, Alanya has two lighthouses, despite
not being much in use, there is an older one
which was built during the mid-18nth century.
The more newer one was built quite
recently.
Even though you aren't able to go into the
lighthouses, you can still walk up to them,
and admire the 360 degree views of Alanya's
centre.
Our friends Carretta Carrettas are here
again to putting their egg to beach sand of
Alanya. When you see in beach small fenced
areas, please do not go there. Under that
sand eggs are waiting to be small beautiful
carrettas, water turtles.
City of Alanya is using huge ammount of
money are working hours to keep our
beautiful city clean, so that is nice to live or
have holiday here.
If you are in the beach, in the mountain or in
the city, please remember to put all garbage
to garbage gans, thank you!

Have you ever have dinner is Alanyan
Markethall? There is many nice fish
restaurants. You can buy direct from
restaurant or you can go to Fish bazaar and
buy from there and then just ask restaurant
to make it:). Enjoy your food!
Hot weather has arrived to Alanya! It is
about 35 degree now. Please be careful in
beach because wind can be nice and little
bit cool, but sun is burning hot!
And remember to drink water. Good way to
remember is " drink 1 l for 10 degree".

This year 149 companys who are dealing
with food got Orange Hygienia flag. 38 of
those get it first time now. This year was 16
th year when Alanya municipality is giving
this flag.
The municipality has cheked these companies
and also control them with making
hygienia tests throught the year. So it is safe
to eat these places where the flag is:).
Syedra was an ancient port city in the
Pamphylia region on the southern coast of
modern-day
Turkey between the towns of Alanya and
Gazipaşa. Syedra was settled in the 7th
century BCE, and abandoned in the 13th
century CE. The town had a port at sea level
and an upper town 400m above.

Turkish Telekom is now requiring that all
holders of a Turkish mobile telephone
number must have a Turkish ID number.
This is also called a "99 number" since
the ID number of all foreigners start with
99.
Mulberry trees are full of berries:) Please
take those vitamin boms to icebox, and
make ice cold smoothie in hot summer:).
I have two big Mulberry trees in garden, and
i cant ever use all berries, they are making
them so much!
The number can only be obtained in
Turkey and only in person.
To obtain the number you need to go
to some of the local government offices
with applications forms. The exact
process we not describe here, since it
can easily change.
Instead we recommend all of you to pass
by our office here in Alanya in order to
get
latest information on the application
process.
It is actually still possible to get a Turkish
mobile number without the Turkish 99
ID number, but then the number will be
only valid for 3 month and then closed
down.
In case you want to keep the same
Turkish mobile number, there is no
workaround and an ID number is
needed.
This year in Alanya authorities are planning
to serve 10500
portions of aşure to people.
Free treats will be given out on
Thursday, September 12 at 13:30 in front of
the Atatürk Monument.
They said that Asure is the oldest dessert in
the world.
So if you want to have a Turkish mobile
phone number for a period longer than
3 month, please make an appointment
with us next time you arrive to Alanya,
then we will give you the latest info at a
meeting here at our office in Alanya.

New evaluation report introduced in Turkey
Earlier this year a new expertise report was
introduced when buying or selling a
property in Turkey.
This means that a certified appraiser must
valuate the property being traded.
This value is then used as the official
property evaluation and used for calculating
fees for the title deed transaction, property
tax among other examples.
Historically in Turkey the public property
values and evaluations has been a lot
lower than the actual market values and
traded values.
The idea behind introducing this new report
is to bridge the gap between the public
property evaluation and the market values.
The new rapport consists of a detailed
description of the property, the building,
similar properties within the same area
among other examples.Interestingly enough
this report so far is only mandatory for
property transactions where foreigners are
involved as either seller or buyer.
As in other countries a higher public
property evaluation also in Turkey equals
more expenses for the owner of the
property.
In case the Turkish authorities want to gap
the bridge between public evaluations and
traded values the logical step would be to
re-evaluate all properties not matter if they
are being traded or not.
Unfortunately this would go under the
category if "political suicide" and therefor
the government has chosen to implement
this new report step by step and did for
some reason choose to start with properties
being sold or bought by foreigners.
However, it is believed by most that this
will be implemented to all property
trades no matter nationality soon.
Moreover, within some years all properties
no matter if they are being traded or not will
have to be re-evaluated.
