We had a quieter and 

slower period at 2Base 

compared to the previous 

year. 

This slow period was not 

only for us but also for 

all other companies. 

However, of course, our 

customers continued to 

work with us during this 

slow period and 

they kept visiting us for 

coffee. 

In 2023, due to the war 

situations and other reasons 

that existed in the 

world, people 

hesitated about real estate 

purchases. For this 

reason, foreign citizens 

in Turkey

compared to the previous 

year. In this period, 

Antalya had the highest 

number of sales after 

Istanbul. 

House sales also declined 

in Turkey. The 

main reason for this is 

the new interest rate 

hike by the Central Bank 

of Turkey,

on February 6, in the 

eastern part of Turkey,

earthquake. It was a

Headman (Muhtar) 

A headman (muhtar) is a state official who is the head of the administration of the villages 

and local neighborhoods. 

Headman are elected by the people living in the neighborhoods and villages for five years. 

Headmans can not be a candidate from a political party, but in reality, they are influenced 

by politics. 

Headmans (muhtar) have many essential duties. some foreign 

- Streets and street signs. Submitting the missing consumer to the municipality 

- Identifying those who need help and resolving the necessary situations 

- To deliver voter transportation to the public during the election. 

- Traffic fines and court documents are delivered to the headman. 

The headman are the auxiliary state in direct contact with the people and many of your 

problems in the neighborhoods or villages; the dimensions are the person. You can report 

all your complaints about the neighborhood and village to the headman; he will guide you 

correctly.

What is the Electricity Usage Fee in Turkey? 

How is Electricity Bill Calculated? 

Starting from September 2023 in Turkey, electricity 

consumption in 1 kWh is priced at an 

average of 2.6 TL, including taxes. 

The electricity bill cost can be found by multiplying 

the consumption with the unit price. (EX: 

967 kWh x 2.6 = 2.514 TL) It may seem complicated, 

but it’s actually just a simple multiplication 

operation. 

In How Many Days Should We Pay The Electricity 

Bill? 

If the payment is not made within 5 working 

days after the last payment date, the electricity 

will be cut off. 

Where is the electricity bill paid? 

For you, we have researched the average consumption 

cost of some electronic items that 

you use the most on a daily basis. 

1 Air conditioner usage for 12 hours a week 

average 362 kWH 

TV usage average of 8 hours in a week is 21 kWh 

Refrigerator usage for a week is 29 kWh on 

average. 

1 hour of kettle use in a week is 61 kWh on average 

You can pay your electricity bills through 

mobile banking applications, PTT branches or

Foreigners who wish to stay in Turkey for more than 90 days or for a period longer than allowed 

by their visa, must obtain a residence permit in Turkey. 

The application is started via the electronic “e-residence system” after which all applicants

A Spark is Enough to Start a Fire! Hello everyone, 

Today we will talk about a sensitive issue, 

forest fires. 

With the increase in temperatures in the 

summer months the forest areas are very dry 

and often forest fires occur. 

Since Alanya is one of the regions with the 

highest temperature in Turkey, we experience 

forest fires in the region every year. 

Forest fires can be caused by many natural 

causes such as high temperature, lightning 

strikes and so on. 

However, the most common causes of forest 

fires today are uncontrolled burning, smoking 

and agricultural work. 

In other words, forest fires that are started by 

humans. 

This sunday the professional bike race Tour of 

Turkey will kick off in Alanya with stage 1. 

The race have a total of 8 stages leading the 

peloton via Antalya, Kemer, Fethiye, Bodrum and 

Izmir all the way to Istanbul. 

This year four world tour teams, seven pro teams, 

12 continental teams and the Dutch national team 

are on the start list and among the many world 

class riders also the Britsh sprinter Mark “the 

Manx misile” Cavendish is expected to take the 

start. 

The team presentation will take place Sunday 

morning between 10.40 and 11.25 o’clock at the 

Red Tower and stage 1 will kicks off at 11.40 from 

the same area.

the competition can be followed on 

Eurosport and TRT Spor channels.

Parasailing 

Parasailing varies according to

What are the earthquake risk zones in Turkey? 

Turkey lies on a small tectonic plate that is called the Anatolian plate, and the country is located 

in an area with relatively high seismic activity. 

The reason for this is that the country is squeezed between three large tectonic plates: The 

north-going African and Arabian plate to the south, and the south-going Eurasian plate to the 

north. The movement of these three plates causes the Anatolian plate to be pushed westward 

into the Aegean Sea. 

Since Turkey is a large country, the risk from region to region is different. According to the determination 

of the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), regions in Turkey 

are divided into 5 zones according to earthquake risk. 

If a region is placed in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd zone precautions must be taken. 

Alanya is located in the 4th zone and is therefor considered a safe zone. This means that in 

Alanya earthquakes are felt, but will not have any destructive effect. 

Building Process in Turkey 

To make earthquake-proof buildings, the builder has to be aware of the building’s natural vibrations. 

Earthquakes create strong lateral movements, so to minimize the amount of damage, buildings 

are constructed using rigid horizontal floors and vertical columns which will absorb the 

lateral load and lead it to the ground.

Despite Alanya’s location in an area with relatively low seismic activity, it is still mandatory to 

acquire DASK insurance, which also covers any damage caused by earthquakes. 

In Turkey there are clear rules for how to obtain building permissions and then carry out the 

construction based on the permission that is given. 

During the building process, controls of the quality of the raw construction and compliance 

with the building permission are done by verified and independent controllers. 

Only after these controls have been passed will the constructor be able to obtain the final permissions 

and documentation of completion. 

Where can I learn if the building is earthquake resistant? 

Earthquake resistance tests are carried out by independent and licensed research companies 

or municipal teams and are used for old buildings in high risk zones. 

In regions where there is no high earthquake risk, earthquake resistance tests can be made by 

independent companies for a fee. 

In general, there is no need to test newer buildings in any of the 5 zones since they have been 

tested and approved during the construction period.

The name is Uçanca waterfall and it is located 

in Toslak village in Konaklı region of 

Alanya. 

The drive to the waterfall is beautiful and 

mostly asphalt road. 

You should definitely use navigation while 

going to Uçanca Waterfall. But the waterfall 

is not showing correctly in Google Maps. 

So we will leave the correct location in a link

Uçanca waterfall is a magnificent place during 

periods of heavy rain. Those who see the

the mountains are fascinated. 

During the summer months the waterfall can 

dry out due to the heat. 

If you are going to go here, we recommend 

that you go during the rainy season. 

Uçanca Waterfall, one of the hidden and

is that the cable car does not work after 11:00

The big earthquake in Turkey, which hit the 

country on February the 20. 2023, deeply 

affected all of us. 

Our government launched the ‘Evim Yuvan 

Olsun’ (Let My Home Be Your Home) campaign

hanging in many shops. This is a traditional 

dessert named walnut sausage (Cevizli 

Sucuk). 

This is one of the most popular and purchased 

touristic desserts in Turkey. 

The main ingredient of walnut sausage is 

molasses and walnuts. It can also be made 

with grape or mulberry juice. 

It is made by dipping walnuts on a string several 

times into a boiling juice mix of molasses, 

grape or mulberry juice and spices. 

Walnut sausage is a real energy booster and 

is very healthy because of the molasses and 

walnuts it contains. 

In every city in Turkey events and concerts

Vehicle inspection in Turkey 

As we all know there are a lot of cars on the roads in Alanya. Some new, 

some old and some very old ones can be seen. 

But for all of them the rules are the same and an inspection is 

required every two year. 

TuvTürk is the only authorized and responsible institution for vehicle 

inspection in Turkey. 

An online system is used to get your appointment and the check-up 

takes around two hours. 

The branch of TuvTürk in our area is located in Konakli. After the 

inspection vehicles are divided into different categories. 

PERFECT: It is the result that means there is no issue related to the 

vehicle. 

LIGHTLY DEFECTIVE: It means that the vehicle is safe and can be used, 

but some minor defects must be fixed. 

HEAVY DEFECT: The vehicle has defects that prevent it from being safe. 

The owner must fix the defects and pass another inspection before the 

vehicle can be used.


Identity card (Kimlik kartı) 

In Turkey everyone has a so-called “kimlik”, which is an ID card that contains an unique ID 

number for each individual. 

The kimlik card can be used for identifying yourself at places such as the bank, land registry 

office, the notaries office and so on. 

According to Turkish law a person must have his ID card on him at all times, when in a public 

place. 

The unique ID number consists 11 digits and will follow you your entire life. 

Also foreigners can get a Turkish ID number and an ID card. This requires that you apply for 

and obtain a resident permit. 

For foreigners the ID number will always start with “99”. 

Recent new versions of the ID card also contains a chip and biometric data. This increases 

the security of the system and allows both private and government institutions and organizations 

to use the ID card to perform secure identity verification.

The entrance fee of Alanya Archeology Museum

Station, what makes it interesting is that they
