During summer the heat in Alanya can be<br />
overwhelming and during this time the locals<br />
of Alanya go to plateus of the mountains to<br />
find cooler temperatures.<br />
Gökbel Plateau is one of the best known and<br />
offers a wonderful opportunity to take in the<br />
fresh air and enjoy nature.<br />
Another reason to go to Gökbel is the annual<br />
oil wrestling competition which this year will<br />
take place on the 12th to 13th of August.<br />
More than 1000 wrestlers will participate.<br />
Turkish oil wrestling is a sport that can only be<br />
seen live on a few occasions, so if you have<br />
the chance you should definately go to Gökbel.<br />
Besides oil wrestling there will be music and<br />
plenty of food and drinks.<br />
