Why on earth is the city<br />
council thinking of closing<br />
the Metro bus exchanges on<br />
Riccarton Rd?<br />
With winter ahead of us<br />
they are always used at all<br />
hours<br />
I use buses daily and am<br />
grateful for a warm place to sit<br />
and wait for buses.<br />
What was the point of<br />
spending money on new buses<br />
and bus lanes if people can’t<br />
access a place to feel safe and<br />
warm to use the buses?<br />
Seriously, these councillors<br />
Fall in love<br />
need to park up the expensive<br />
cars they drive and use what<br />
everyday people rely on daily.<br />
How pathetic to cut a<br />
service for people who rely<br />
on buses to get to from work,<br />
school etc.<br />
I was so mad when I first<br />
read this and re-reading it<br />
infuriates me more.<br />

Moore and have made a<br />
submission to the city council<br />
against closing the Riccarton<br />
Rd bus lounges, especially the<br />
larger one on the south side<br />
where the buses stop.<br />
There is no sheltering verandah<br />
there. This affects older<br />
people like myself and handicapped<br />
people who welcome<br />
the shelter the lounge provides<br />
when the weather is cold and/<br />
