Here is what he would like usto know.What brought you to Colorado?Page 18Seeing the kids grow through all theirtriumphs, failures, family issues, etc. wasthe greatest reward. I remember onestudent named Micah. He was a two-yearoldboy that drew me a picture of a ninjaturtle, it was Raphael. Micah said Ireminded him of a superhero.When I was six years old my mom, sister,and I packed up our U-Haul and drove toColorado seeking a fresh start. I didn’t knowwhat to expect. Looking back on it nowthough, that was the greatest decision weever made.What are your hobbies/interests?My favorite thing in the world to do isfishing. There is nothing like relaxing on apeaceful day outside with a line in thewater. I enjoy camping, hiking, boating,basically anything outdoors. Sports are alsoa huge part of my life. Broncos football willbe watched every Sunday at my house.What is the best thing about your job,and what would you change if youcould?My favorite part about working at OPS isensuring the safety of our community.Without our efforts there would be oil spillsgoing unnoticed, the use of explosiveswithout regulation, etc. We play a big rolefor the public and even ourselves, and thatis exciting! If I could change one thing, Iwish we could have been in office duringthe past year. Covid-19 was an obstaclethat everyone had to overcome. Bothmentally with what was going on in theworld around us and in the workplace.Playing basketball and joining a flag footballleague are great ways to get some exerciseand have fun. Religion is another bigportion of my life. I am a Christian and enjoyattending bible studies to gain a closerrelationship.What is your most rewarding job?I was a kids and adults Martial ArtsInstructor for seven years. That was themost fulfilling job I ever had.
Summer 2021GETTING TO KNOW…by Peggy ChristianIf you were a fish, which one would you be and why?Page 19Funny enough I have put a lot of thought into this. I am an avid fisherman, and havewitnessed a lot of fish. Some are poisonous and have teeth bigger than a human. Whileothers are just swimming to survive. If I could be any fish, it would have to be a dolphin.They may lack in size and girth, but Dolphins certainly make up for it elsewhere. They areintelligent, swift, and can communicate just as well as we do. Their first reaction to dangeris to save and protect. Dolphins are much more than the average fish; they are the gluethat keeps the ocean life together.
