Some pr<strong>of</strong>essions use the term 'continuing pr<strong>of</strong>essional development’ formally and require a<br />

certain amount <strong>of</strong> development activity to be carried out and documented each year as a<br />

license to operate in that field. In other areas, <strong>CPD</strong> is used more informally. A commitment to<br />

companies. In 2010, she founded the Cyprus Image Institute after obtaining the title <strong>of</strong> Certified Image Maker (with<br />

attendance in London) and joined as an associate member <strong>of</strong> the Association <strong>of</strong> Image Consultants International. At 27,<br />

Andrie was the youngest nominated Ambassador for Female Entrepreneurship for Europe, serving since then as a<br />

business advisor and mentor. In 2013, Andrie was designated as the Goodwill Ambassador <strong>of</strong> the Hope in Life Foundation<br />

and a Cypriot Woman <strong>of</strong> the Year (2013) finalist. She enjoys regular and extensive publicity in local print, online and<br />

television programs, and have been interviewed for various publications in the US, Denmark, Holland and Greece. She<br />

was a Senior Manager at the Markets department <strong>of</strong> KPMG in Cyprus and she currently holds the role <strong>of</strong> the Organizational<br />

Leader <strong>of</strong> the Ronald McDonald House Charities <strong>of</strong> Cyprus. Andrie is a Certified trainer by the Human Resource<br />

Development Authority <strong>of</strong> Cyprus and has over 15 years <strong>of</strong> hands-on management, leadership & training. She served<br />

Andrie studied Marketing and Business Management in London where she also acquired the Advanced Certificate from<br />

the Chartered Institute <strong>of</strong> Marketing London. She was in charge <strong>of</strong> marketing and communications at EY Cyprus. At the<br />

same time, she graduated with Distinction from London and was awarded a master’s degree in Strategic Marketing. In<br />

2008, she founded Penta Marketing Art, which provided marketing and public relations solutions for private and public<br />

companies. In 2010, she founded the Cyprus Image Institute after obtaining the title <strong>of</strong> Certified Image Maker (with<br />

attendance in London) and joined as an associate member <strong>of</strong> the Association <strong>of</strong> Image Consultants International. At 27,<br />

Andrie was the youngest nominated Ambassador for Female Entrepreneurship for Europe, serving since then as a<br />

business advisor and mentor. In 2013, Andrie was designated as the Goodwill Ambassador <strong>of</strong> the Hope in Life Foundation<br />

and a Cypriot Woman <strong>of</strong> the Year (2013) finalist. She enjoys regular and extensive publicity in local print, online and<br />

television programs, and have been interviewed for various publications in the US, Denmark, Holland, and Greece. She<br />

was a Senior Manager at the Markets department <strong>of</strong> KPMG in Cyprus, and she currently holds the role <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Organizational Leader <strong>of</strong> the Ronald McDonald House Charities <strong>of</strong> Cyprus. Andrie is a Certified trainer by the Human<br />

Efthymios Kanaris is a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA), member <strong>of</strong> the Institute <strong>of</strong> Chartered Accountants in<br />

Elena is a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) with a BA (Hons) in Business Administration and an MSc in Monetary and<br />

Financial Economics. She has worked for a decade in the pr<strong>of</strong>ession, initially as an auditor <strong>of</strong> investment holding<br />

companies and financial institutions at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Later, she worked from the position <strong>of</strong> a manager<br />

in the Corporate Compliance Department <strong>of</strong> Abacus Ltd and PwC. During her involvement in the audit and corporate<br />

compliance sector, Elena was responsible for a large portfolio <strong>of</strong> clients and had hands on experience on compliance<br />

with the Anti – Money Laundering (AML) legislation <strong>of</strong> the portfolio she was managing. She has a thorough knowledge<br />

and understanding <strong>of</strong> the legislation and the ICPAC requirements regarding AML Compliance.<br />

In 2016, she joined on a full-time basis the <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>essional <strong>Studies</strong> <strong>of</strong> Cyprus College, where she teaches<br />

pr<strong>of</strong>essional courses which lead to the ACA and ACCA qualification. She specializes in the taxation and financial and<br />

management accounting papers. Furthermore, she is involved in the delivery <strong>of</strong> HRDA approved seminars in her areas <strong>of</strong><br />

England and Wales and is also a member <strong>of</strong> the Institute <strong>of</strong> Certified Public Accountants <strong>of</strong> Cyprus (ICPAC). Over 9 years<br />

<strong>of</strong> experience in the Audit Department <strong>of</strong> Big 4 companies both in London and Cyprus holding a group senior manager<br />

transformation and financial control. A result driven audit group senior manager with an extensive and successful track<br />

Fraud is a global problem affecting economies, businesses, and individuals. A serious threat to any company independent<br />

<strong>of</strong> sector and size – and it is on the rise globally and nationally. It is estimated that a typical organization loses 5% <strong>of</strong> its<br />

annual revenue because <strong>of</strong> fraud. Consequently, all organizations, irrespective <strong>of</strong> their business sector, are nowadays<br />

more susceptible to fraudulent acts and there is an increased need for enhancing fraud awareness in organizations. <strong>The</strong><br />

course explores the types <strong>of</strong> fraudulent financial transactions incurred in accounting records and helps gain a deeper<br />

understanding <strong>of</strong> the following concepts: basic accounting and auditing theory, fraud schemes, internal controls to deter<br />

<strong>The</strong> need to <strong>of</strong>fer the program arose after realizing the great difficulties faced by pr<strong>of</strong>essionals in the field <strong>of</strong><br />

implementing good practices in the field <strong>of</strong> Financial Reporting and Analysis and more specifically to be able to analyze<br />

and interpret the results <strong>of</strong> financial statements <strong>of</strong> companies in order to is able to perform high quality analyzes that<br />

take into account recent developments regarding International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as well as US<br />

Generally Accepted Accounting Practices and the adoption <strong>of</strong> well-informed investment decisions.<br />

<strong>The</strong> module aims to provide delegates with a thorough understanding <strong>of</strong> the financial accounting techniques at an<br />

advanced level and gain an appreciation <strong>of</strong> the regulatory and social environment within which financial reporting takes<br />

place. <strong>The</strong>y will also be able to analyze corporate financial statement information and to make performance evaluations<br />

and investment decisions.<br />

Christos has been a CFA Charterholder since 2006. His other credentials include an MSc in Investment Management<br />

(CASS Business <strong>School</strong>), a BSc in Business Administration (Cardiff University) and a certificate in Asset Management<br />

(Agence de Transfer de Technologie Financière, Luxembourg). He is a financial pr<strong>of</strong>essional since 2003 and his career<br />

has been split between Corporate Finance and buy side Investment Research. His experience ranges from the valuation<br />

<strong>of</strong> highly complicated exotic financial instruments to the completion <strong>of</strong> multi-million M&A deals. He is also a highly<br />

experienced instructor and since 2010 has held part-time University lecturer positions and delivered numerous<br />

pr<strong>of</strong>essional seminars. Christos is the founder and CEO <strong>of</strong> A.F.S. Analytica Financial Solutions Ltd, a company specialized<br />

in the provision <strong>of</strong> bespoke financial and business analytics.<br />
